What trend are you "over"?

Um. Maybe owls. LOL I will say that I don't "get" the leaf/tree branch thing. I love the pages I see with them, I just don't do it myself.

I'm "over"......the whole fantasy turn your kids into creepy fairies on paper things. Hey whatever floats your boat, maybe I'm just jealous cause I don't have the skills to do it :p

Bree I definitely think you're right. I would never ever want to hurt anyone's feelings, I was just talking about my own personal style..so many times I've WISHED I could pull off pages like those pretty/arty ones, I just guess I don't have it in me.

Yeah, see that's how I should have said it. I can't do it so I don't get it. I see them and I'm like...hmmm....that's pretty. But I can't do it so I don't like 'em. LOL. And my kid always has ketchup on her mouth or has just been wallowing in dirt of something, so we could never get those types of pics. Really they are your pages and you make them for you and for whatever reason so who gives a rat's behind if anybody else likes it.

I'm not over anything.
Honestly-I scrap for my family-and me-and my CT's.
Sooo I'm open to all possibilities.
I don't feel bad about that at all.
I'm crazy about buttons...have I mentioned that?

i don't think i'm over anything either . . . I dunno. I'm not as excited about bent photo clusters as I once was . . . but I'd still probably use them if my page called for it.

I call buttons "Shannon" now. Like oh I need a little Shannon in this corner, wonder if I can find a green Shannon, oh I didn't know I had so many blue Shannons. :D

Scrapbooking is about whatever you want it to be, really...those that scrap the more "artsy" pages are just as much a scrapper as those of us that scrap for recording the memories. For some it's just that - an art form. Everyone is allowed to do their own thing, and that's the BEST part of this industry!

I'm just asking you to be careful about what you say about other styles, because we wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Whatever a person feels that they should record is what they should do, and it's still beautiful. Even if they choose to never print a single page - what difference is it to us, kwim? :)

(Can you tell I've seen some of these threads cause MEGA tension and hurt a lot of people's feelings in the past? LOL!)
Very well put!

I'm not over anything either. I just scrap what hits me. I like the artsy pages and the more traditional pages. I try to do a little of everything. If I have a style (not sure that I do), it's that I'm all over the board, lol. I love variety. I think that is what is so neat about everyones' galleries ... you can see so many different styles and one isn't necessarily better than another, just different! We are all drawn to different things and what may be "in" for someone, may be "out" for another. I love pouring over the galleries and looking at all types of layouts.

Kewl, Mimi! Now I'll never look at Shannon the same way again

***ETA--I love me some Shannons LMAO!

I think I have to "master" something in order to be "over" it, and I haven't "mastered" any trend/style yet (like worn overlays, brackets, etc) so I feel compelled to keep trying.

I think maybe I have given up on blending... photos into backgrounds... but now that I say that I will probably be compelled to try again, lol.

I don't know if I'm "over" anything, but I never got brads. I know they're not nearly as popular anymore, but I still have a million of them in my stash and I don't know if I've ever used them. What the heck are you supposed to do with them? No matter what I do with brads, it looks weird. I much prefer "Shannons" or stitching to fasten things.

I love scrapbooking trends, and I don't think I'm tired of any of them right now. It's probably because I want to try them all as I go and don't spend too much time on any one thing. Just guessing.

I am not over anything either. I am all over the place so i have never done one thing enough to get bored with it...that I can think of.

I was totally over Halloween kits like a month before it got here, but that should have passed now, lmao!

I don't get too in to anything, so I never feel a need to really be over anything. If I like it and it fits my page, I use it.

I'm TRYING to get over my obsessive need to use ALL of the pretty pp in a kit on one page.

I'm also trying to get over my attempts to layer like Jacq; she says, "just throw stuff under there" but it doesn't really work for me. :(

There is only one trend I never really even remotely got. Chandeliers? Just a big wtf to me LOL. That being said, if suddenly an idea popped into my head where one would work, I wouldn't be at all averse to throwing one on a page. However, I'm not anticipating that happening any time soon. :D

Most trends I've loved, and will use them wherever, whenever they suit my fancy. :)

LOL Joan I did a Halloween page with a Chandelier! Cuz it was all spooky like that. And it was about my Halloween decorations.

Oh, good call, Bryn! EDIT: oops, I mean, Di! :D Somehow your posts melded together in my brain when I brought the thread back up lol. I have a Halloween kit with one in it and, now that you mention it, I liked it a lot in that context.

OK, gotta say I've never seen chandeliers on a layout. Link me up?

Check this search I did @ DST. Really pretty layouts, but the chandeliers are kinda "huh?" on most of 'em, at least to me. Of course, lots of our stuff on our layouts can be like that, but it's still fun having it on there, and I'm a whole-hearted supporter of doing so. This is just that one particular thing that doesn't quite do it for me. :)

hahaha! That's hilarious! Nope, I don't think I have any chandeliers in my lo's. Or in any of my kits, for that matter! lol

I put chandeliers in one of my kits...it's a trend in paper scrapping right now. :)

I think they are great for "evening" layouts--like holiday office parties, ballet/opera/musicals, etc.

That's where I've really noticed them, when I'm out in places like Michaels or my LSS.

Mind you, last time I saw them in Michaels, it was in the clearance aisle, so maybe it's already on the way out? I can see the evening type thing, it's more when I just see them randomly plunked on a layout with no rhyme or reason. I generally love randomness, but there's just something about chandeliers I guess... I just don't relate to them.

I think they are an odd trend to start with...but when Hambly makes it, people will use it. LOL Wonder how long they will remain a trend-setter. It's doesn't seem to change as quickly as it does here in digiland.

I like the chandelier in the After 5 halloween collab. It was so moody. I could practically hear the harpsichord playing.

I'm not sure I've skipped over a trend yet.
