What the heck?

I just went in to get my daughter up for school and my four year old son woke up at the same time. He sat up in bed and I realized he has a shiner and his lip has dried blood on it!! Their bedroom is right above ours and we can hear EVERYTHING! He said he fell out of bed last night (not a bunk bed) but we didn't hear anything!
