ok.. so reed likes to make fun of me a lot and claims I'm like "original emo" or something.. (well she says that after I argue with her that I am NOT emo)..

and I told her about my weezer love the other day and she started again with the gah you are so emo thing..


I was driving and they were doing the "top 20 emo songs" and said someone called and yelled at them cause things like weezer werent' included.. and the dude was like to clarify we are not including "proto-emo" bands..

Know what I hate? Kids who are "scene". They listen to a certain kind of music so they HAVE to dress a certain way.

ETA: Most Emo kids are also scene. Which drives me insane. Just beacuse you like a certain band doesn't mean you have to wear skinny tight black jeans that make it look like you have clown feet, with long dirty hair that's always covered up with a hoodie.

Emo is short for emotional. It's a "genre" of music, but anything can be called Emo at this point.

Scene is scene La, duh. :p
 
I almost did cartwheels when my best friend (and lead singer of a band, but not an emo band) got a hold of himself and snapped out of being "scene". His hair was all long and gross and in his face. Thankfully when I saw him last weekend it was cut and spiked just the way I like it. He looks so much hotter cleaned up than "scene".

I'm all about the hoodie, it's the grossness that lurks underneath it I don't like.
 
Kinda, yea. But there are different scenes. There's the death metal scene, the emo scene, the punk rock scene.

Whatever images comes to mind when you think of that kind of music and it's fans, THAT is scene.
 
I so wish I thought to take a pic of my oldest brat on Halloween - dog collar, little spikes all over his head, eyeliner and dark smokey grey eyeshadow, super skinny jeans (girls jeans at that! cause his Mom is mean and won't buy him skinnies) ... sadly, the look suited him (well, without the dog collar - wtf?? duh!).

oh, and if you are emo cause you like weezer, does that make me emo too? I hope not!!!
 
La-I have no opinion on the emo thing...BUT I am so happy you changed your avi of Jared...that last one was a little creepy!
 
oh, and I *heart* hoodies!! I even steal the brat's hoodies cause they are comfy and fit me! hehehee To have a kid have clothes I can wear - bonus - even if they are boys clothes. Although his purple hoodie is my absolute fave. lol

and I am cracking up.. cause by the description on this blog *I* am "scene"

A scene person usually wears tight, skinny legged pants like an emo (this I don't really do.. I am still stuck in flared pants), and they wear band shirts a lot too (just like their counterparts) (who doesn't wear band shirts? lmao). but they tend to wear everything in super bright neon colors (this I do..I mix black and flourescent colours.. just like my kits haha), and enjoy having somewhat kiddie-ish cartoon characters on their clothing (i.e. hello kitty, miffy, gloomy bear, pokemon) (I lurve hello kitty and gay cartoonish shizz! LOL .. shawna even sent me a hello kitty head band haha).

Well by that definition then I'm a little bit scene too lol (except for the skinny leg jeans - ewww) cause I do pretty much live in my Breaking Benjamin t-shirts (and I occasionally steal Rob's Three Days Grace one too) and I lurve my Aeropostale hoodies lol! Really I just like to be comfy! Most of the music we listen to is emo or has been called emo by someone at some point in time lol.
