Yup. Happy 33rd Anniversary to my parents.

Yeah, it totally sucks. BIG TIME. Not only because, ya know, its GONE and all. But because now there's a lot of things that they can't do. For one, my dad builds handicapped ramps with our church for Volunteers of America. They use his truck to haul the trailer that holds all the wood and tools and stuff for the ramps. So, no more ramps for a while. And "ramp season" is just starting. Also, my parents take their camping trailer all spring and summer all over the place camping and now they can't haul the thing w/o dads truck. Oh, and the garage-door opener was in his truck so now they have to disable their garagedoor so they can't break into the garage and house. My dad has tens of thousands of dollars worth of tools in his garage including his mint hotrod. So, that sucks.

The only "good" thing about all of this is that he didn't have a bunch of ramp tool in the back of the tahoe like he usually does. He was hauling some yard waste and took them out of monday. Good thing, too. Cuz that would have been about $10k in tools gone.

Ugh. I feel so bad for them.

OMG that is terrible!! I can't even imagine to waking up and my vehicle GONE from my drive way. :( I hope they ended up getting it back or that ins. is able to cover something.

UGH. People suck! I'm so sorry that your parents have to deal with this Jenny - especially on their anniversary!!!

Yeah, they filed a report. The cops came, and told them that there has been a string of thefts w/ this type of vehicle. They said they theifs are professionals and that we probably would never see the truck again. The only stolen vehicle they've found from these guys was found in NORTH DAKOTA and it was totally stripped down the basically the shell of the truck. So, we don't have high-hopes. As for insurance, they will pay. But not enough to replace the truck outright. I don't understand how that works, but whatever. I'm bummed for my parents. :(

Jenny, they pay actual cash value, minus the deductible. :( It sucks, because it's never enough.

Side note, just in case their agent didn't mention it... any personal belongings inside the truck can be replaced by their homeowners policy.

Yeah, they called in their homeowners insurance. Luckily all of value that was in the truck was dad's ipod and GPS. Nothing too valuable, but such a bummer nonetheless.

Oh no!! Do the police think that they will be able to recover it? Does insurance pay you for this sort of thing?

I hope they get it back and in good condition Jenny!! Oh, and Happy Anniversary to your parents (for real)... 33 years is an awesome example!

ETA: I just read your other post about it most likely not being recovered. I'm sad to hear that :(.

How aweful :(! There are advantages to owning a 1996 Taurus station wagon, lol. Noone wants it,lol. That's not to make light of the theft btw. I'd be so sick to my stomach if i had a good car that was stolen.

Oh, that stinks big time! I hope the rotten filthy thieves are caught.

Sorry your parents anniversary had to start out like that. :(
