You forgot us PSPers :-( I use PSP8, I've had it for... about 6 yrs now and I love it. It was what I could afford at the time and would like to upgrade to the new PSP X2 next time I've got some money to spend (though hanging out here makes it hard... lol).

I use CS4. I used CS2 for several years and got the upgrade for Christmas. I was having some bugs with CS2 that kept popping up over and over, and I had been wanting the upgrade anyway, so I just went ahead and did it. :) I love it!

Academic pricing  Lol hubby is on a 3 month break from school so once he gets back into the swing of things how do i find out more about this!?!? :)

Check out AcademicSuperstore.com. They have all the information you'd need to send to them.

I use CS2 and really have no desire or need to upgrade, since it does everything I'd ever need to do. My only complaint is that when I installed it on this computer, it went a little wonky with Vista. It ran better with XP, at least for me.

I use a mix between CS4 and Elements 6. I love CS4 for shadows, gradients, and more, but to me Elements 6 is quicker (and I do love the dark background that most people hate!)....I usually use Elements to do my extractions for the products I sell at my shop, though- as I do mine by hand (not the extraction tool thingy that's in CS4- I haven't even tried to use it!) But in my opinion, Elements is quicker- if I try to extract in my CS4, for some reason I just can't do it and I mess up, even using the same ((secret)) :p technique of mine! LOL! Strange how a cheap program works better for me than a more expensive one! hehehe!

I use CS2 and am hoping to upgrade soon to CS4. I have CS3 on my PC but I use my laptop to scrap and I got it free from an old job so I can't transfer the license!

I use PSPX2. I've been with PSP since 5. I wish it did clipping masks like PS but I don't miss that enough to switch. I suspect that will turn up as a feature in the next release,

I use PSP X2. I've always been a PSP girl and started out on version 8 back in the day lol. I love it, it's just what I know. I used to not like it so much that you could never find photo scripts for PSP like you can actions for PSE but over the years I've learned a lot about self-editing my photos so I usually just do that now anyway. I've use v. 8,9,10 and now X2 and by far X2 is my favorite.

I use PhotoImpact X3 and love it. A lot more people used PI when I started, 5 years ago. I tried switching to PSE once or twice, but it was too frustrating to relearn and the shadow and action limitations would annoy me. CS anything is way to $$ for me, so I'll be sticking to PI for a long time to come!

I use PSP X2 and have been a PSP addict since the old Jasc days going all the way back to v.4!! It does give me fits occasionally, such as freezing and hanging, but I hang in and persevere, lol!

Thank you Nikki for the link to the script...I can't wait to try it out! :)

To answer your questions:

What do you like or dislike about the program you use?
I don't dislike a thing about it!! =)) I can't believe I ever scrapped without it!

Why did you choose the program that you are currently using?
I started digi-scrapping with PSP X but when I switched over to Mac, I had to upgrade to PSE4 since they don't make PSP X for Mac and I didn't want to use a Windows emulator. When I upgraded to Leopard, PSE4 kept crashing on me, so I downloaded a free trial of CS3 and quickly fell in love!! Since my trial was going to end on my birthday, my DH surprised me with the serial numbers for the licensed version of it! =))

Wow .. this really helps. It is so interesting to see who uses what and why. I have been using CS3 for about a year and CS2 before that. I never used Elements, but I hear over and over that Element users don't want to switch to CS or above because it is to hard to use. I don't even know the differences, so it has been interesting to read why you all use the programs that you have.

So, another question ... how do you learn about the computer program you have? Do you buy tutorials? Learn from a friend? Learn on your own?

I started scrapping last year with PSE5 and recently upgraded to PSE6 when I got the software with my Bamboo Fun tablet. I got an upgrade deal ($299) from Adobe last month so I just ordered CS4 last week. I can't wait to get it and see what all the fuss is about but after reading the responses I'm even more nervous about figuring it all out!

I use PSE6 on my laptop. I got it because I could afford it,lol. I really do love it but I'm trying to learn CS 3 extended on the Mac, which I inherited from my Dad, otherwise I could've never afforded it.
The CS3 I've only tried to learn in earnest in the past week but I can tell I am really going to love it too.

I use PSPX2, I've been using it for years and still have lots to learn about it--but I might be getting CS4 soon, and I don't know how I'll get transitioned over to it

I have CS3 and I'm happy with it. Probably won't upgrade again until I actually start making money from it. LOL!

I used PSE4 for 2 1/2 years. I decided to upgrade to CS4 a few weeks ago, and when I did, I had to completely wipe PSE4 off of my computer because of problems installing CS4. I've had to get used to CS4 quickly...and I'm moving around in it pretty well. There is just so much more I can do in there than I could in Elements...and I love how fast it is to install actions..and they all work in there!! I don't have to have anything specially made for elements. I know there is so much more that it can do than I know about...so it's going to be fun learning!

I use both PSPXI and CS3 (and Illustrator CS2) for my designing. I started out many moons ago (making siggy tags and email stationery) using PSP7 and just fell in love with it. I started using CS2 a couple of years ago and then upgraded to CS3 right before CS4 came out. I almost always have both PSPXI and CS3 open at the same time and switch between the two. If I can't seem to get the effect I want in one then I go to the other. I do all of my previews in PSPXI.

Eva, did you upgrade to CS3 before or after CS4 was announced? If it was after, they'll upgrade you to CS4 for free.

I don't remember. LOL I did know that CS4 was coming out, but I am not sure if they had announced it yet or not. I will check into it. Thanks for the heads up. :)
