your most realistic dream vacation? I know there are lots and lots of places that I want to visit that eventually I might get to, but the one at the top of my list is a

Disney Cruise to Mexico with all of my kids :)


(I am slowing working on DH and as long as he doesn't have to fly anywhere, we might just get to do this in about 2 years...the west coast ship only goes to Mexico every other year which would be 2014)!!!

so what is yours?
 
Ummm... One really great thing about being childless is the fact that we have the opportunity to travel a lot. If fertility treatments don't work next year, then I may start saving for a Mediterranean cruise or a land vacation to Europe. Those cruises are usually pretty long though, so I'd have to really work on convincing Colby.

I also really, really want to return to Hawaii again in the next couple of years. I left my heart there on our honeymoon. :)

We just took a cruise in late March and have another one booked for next year. Only 191 days until that trip. Until then, I'm stuck in my dark basement office, saving up the vacation time. lol.
 
Well, our trip next summer is one of them.

I would also like to take Cheyanne to San Diego/Escondido for a couple weeks. And I'd love to take her to Hawaii (her brother was born there).

Another trip to WDW would be in order too - I told her we could go for her high school graduation present :D

Those are the more realistic ones, unless I become independently wealthy in the future ;)
 
Realistically for us - hmm.. a long weekend camping in the Ozarks would be great. Next summer will probably be it for us - a week long drive through Texas visiting historic sites for Connor's educ-vacation for Texas History
 
Realistically, Disney World. I have been there, but my son has not. I would love to take him there. I actually just made a layout about my top 10 realistic vacations. The other places were Colonial Williamsburg, San Diego, NYC, New Orleans, a fall tour of New England, Hawaii, Boston, Roswell, NM (yep, I'm weirdo alien fan) and a cruise.
 
If Michael spends a month or so next summer with his "old" Spanish tutor in Spain working on his fluency, then I am hoping we can fly over and spend some time with him in Spain and Morrocco. Whether that is realistic or not will depend on how much ACT prep and other summer programs may cost. I guess realistically the two dream vacations I may be able to take in the next seven years, if we are not spending too much on college, would be the Spain trip and maybe to Peru. My husband is dying to go back to WDW, but honestly Disney can end up costing us more than a trip to Europe or Hawaii sometimes. My son graduates from high school the same year his favorite cousin graduates from college, and they want to take a family vacation to WDW, so we will see. (New Mexico is one of my favorite states, and I would love to go back there.)

I have several dream trips on my list. My kid & DH like to travel, so I suspect we will eventually do most of these:

1. Germany & Austria (I have a close friend who is now in Berlin!)
2. Alaska
3. Egypt

On a closer-by type trip since I'm not quite ready to take my son overseas: SanDiego, road trip through the southwest, Yellowstone, Florida (disney & space center)
 
Disney! I am going next year no matter what. I want to do the four days at the park and the three day cruise. :)
 
Realistically .... I'd love to say the UK or even Hawaii, but I fear if I can't drive to it - I'll never make it. So probably Disney World and the surrounding awesomeness! :)

If we can get our passports finally - then there's parts of Nova Scotia that looks amazing, and it might be the closest I'll ever get to Scotland, lol
 
We're going to take the kids to Disney in a year or 2, but as much as I want that for them, it's not my dream vacation. I'd love to take a cruise in a few years, when the kids are old enough that they could do a few activities without us and DH and I could spend some of the time actually relaxing.

In the nearer future, I'd love to spend a few days as a family at Colonial Williamsburg. I love living history museums, and my kids are just starting to get old enough to share that with them. I'd also love to take them to Boston. DH and I moved here from Boston 15 years ago and have only been back for 2 quick visits (a wedding and a graduation). My parents are only 3 hours from there, so maybe next summer we'll plan a longer trip to see them and all spend a few days in MA.

And way off in the future, DH and I are planning to take a big anniversary trip for our 25th anniversary (in 11 years, LOL). We want to go back to England and Scotland plus add some European countries we didn't see on our one and only international trip pre-kids. But being realistic, I think it will end up getting pushed back until our 30th anniversary so that all 3 kids will be in college or out on their own by then.

Alaska cruise - we wanted to do it for our honeymoon, but we got married in October so we couldn't. All along I was thinking we would do this without the kids, but now I think taking the kids might not be too bad - if we can afford it!!
 
We're going to Hawaii in October and I can't quite believe it's really happening!! (And I'm so scared to fly!)

After that, my next goal is Disney World with my boys. I have been myself, but I really want to experience the magic through their eyes!
 
Disney World is high on my list...maybe next year...I've never been so it will be a first for me and my son...I would also love to go to Hawaii...
 
I went on a single trip to Thailand in 2009 and loved it so much I really would like to show this gorgeous country to Eric. But I am not really sure this is a good idea with a little kid....we will see if it will happen in the future....
 
I really want to stay at Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island in San Diego. DH's sister actually lives there on the island about 4 blocks from the beach. It was just named the #1 Best Beach in America for 2012 and I would love to stay in that hotel. We can drive to San Diego easily, so we wouldn't have the travel expense.
