What is Easter Dinner for you?

Mine is still in the oven - but I'm making a spiral ham with sweet glaze, sausage-apple bread dressing, cranberry sauce, salad and bread rolls.

Both hubby and I grew up eating turkey - but with our little family of 4 a turkey is too much, so I make a ham. But we love the sides so we still do the bread dressing and cranberry sauce that you normally have with turkey. :) The rolls are because the kids don't like dressing (they're weird - but it means more for me, hahaha!)

I grew up with Ham being the Easter meal so it's what I till make.

I do a sweet n sour glazed ham - I actually chunk it up and throw it in the Crock pot for the day.... less fuss and the flavor distributes through all of it nicely. We do a Potato Salad (this is kind of the first sign of the yummiest food season of all almost being here - bbq season), baked beans and cornbread muffins. I have been smelling it all cook all day.... just doing the potatos now, and as soon as they are cooked it's time to dig in :D (a little later than I had hoped...I was aiming for 4, but it'll be the usual 5 before it's ready...but pretty close to plan).

Ham when I was a kid, we do a bunch of different things. Fried Chicken, Burgers, steaks, etc.

This year I did go traditional.

Ham
Corn on the Cob
Pasta Salad
Green Beans with Bacon & Red Potatoes
Cheesy Potatoes
Rolls

Banana Pudding for dessert.

It was ham growing up and still is for my parents and sisters (who we had dinner with today) but for me and Cheyanne it was Brussels sprouts/quinoa/cranberry/pecan salad with orange vinaigrette; fresh asparagus; and baby carrots. Before dinner we had deviled baby potatoes and for dessert vegan blueberry lemon cheesecake.

Growing up it was always ham.

Now my husband's family is usually the same every year. Today it was...
ham
turkey
shrimp
salmon
peas
green beans
squash casserole
coleslaw
potato salad
sweet potatoes
mac and cheese
fruit
rolls

with bunny coconut cake and pies for dessert

My mom still hosts Christmas and Easter (her insistence) every year, and she always makes ham, mashed potatoes, & sweet potatoes for Easter. She has the rest of us bring various sides & desserts although this year we had bday cake as our primary dessert since it was my dad's bday last week.

We always do ham for Easter, too! Even though my parents are on a very limited diet because of being treated for Chronic Lymes disease and aren't suppose to have ham - but we still did. :) Then egg dip and potato chips... another big no-no (chicken eggs and potatoes)... cole slaw, asparagus, spring salad (lime jello, cream cheese and whipped cream salad - more no-nos), roasted cauliflower, and fresh fruit. Then for desert we had chocolate chia pudding and gluten free brownies with cream cheese and cherries.

We actually grilled out hamburgers with hot dogs for the kids(boiled on the stove); taco salad; cole slaw; deviled eggs with chips. Dessert I made a cake with peep bunnies around the edge and M&M's(Easter pastel) on top.

On the menu in our house is a roasted rosemary & garlic pork loin, potatoes au gratin, fresh grilled asparagus, & toasted baguette. Dessert... easter candy! YUM!

Since we didn't go home to spend Easter with family and it was just us, we had biscuits and gravy, dippy eggs, hash browns and sausage :) It was yummy!

Ham is traditional. Since some of us (my sil and me) don't eat ham, my mil kindly makes a different meat as well. This year it was beef roast. She's made turkey breast and chicken in previous years. For sides, we have corn, creamed peas, green beans, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, baked beans, deviled eggs, salad, and rolls. We'll either have cake or cookies for dessert.

We had ham growing up but neither my husband nor I are ham fans so we had grilled steak with cheesy potatoes, mac and cheese and veggies. Dessert was golden graham treats and strawberry pretzel jello. The weather was beautiful here today, too. A great day!

We usually have ham and the normal Easter side dishes but this year we went to my aunts and grilled steaks and sausage dogs with sweet potato tots, baked beans and teriyaki broccoli and mozzarella cheese bread.

Ham for Easter in our family!

We had-
Ham
Twice Baked Potatoes
Carrots
Rolls
Strawberry Pretzel dessert (layer of pretzel crust, cool whip/ cream cheese, and fresh strawberries in strawberry jello)

Normally we do one more vegetable (something green) but we forgot!

We had dinner at my mom's - so it was ham, cheesy potatoes, macaroni salad (without tomatoes or onions my poor dad was sad but my sister and I have allergies so he had to have it without his favorite stuff in it), carrots, salad, and rolls

then I made brownie/cookie combo for dessert (we call them brookies)

brunch :D

we had biscuits and gravy, sausage casserole, bacon casserole, chocolate chip pancake casserole, french toast casserole, hashbrown casserole, ham, coffeecakes (homemade), oven browned potatoes, and I think that's it.

LOL My family likes to cook and is HUGE

We grilled outside...hamburgers, hot dogs and hot links, chicken and tri-tip. My mom made chili beans, potato and macaroni salad. My sister and I made green salads, too.

We do a big 'ole southern-style meal! Normally we have ham, but for whatever reason, we did pulled pork this year instead. For sides, we had hash brown casserole, bacon wrapped asparagus, peas, roasted broccoli and cauliflower, rolls, and I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but that's all I can remember right now! Oh, and my mom made a homemade red velvet cake. Sooo good!
