*lol* Okay, so, I had this insanely huge crush on this guy named Tom in middle and high school. I never talked to him, of course, but crushed from afar.
What should happen in tenth grade geometry but... I HAVE A CLASS WITH HIM AND HE SITS AT THE SAME TABLE AS ME!

No assigned seats as the class was kinda set up like an auditorium, so a couple times he even SAT RIGHT NEXT TO ME. It was all I could do to breathe when he was that close to me. Thank goodness I didn't actually have to think in the class or I would be dead now.
Anyways, it was Valentine's Day that year, and I walk in with my friend Horse Gurl to find four pink carnations right in a row where we usually sat. Tom is sitting at the end of this flower line trying to not pay attention to us. HG and I are completely confused as neither one of us is exactly Ms. Popularity or had a boyfriend. Our school had a flower fundraiser where guys could buy flowers to send to their sweeties, but those had already been delivered first hour. It was a puzzler.
Very loudly (as always), Horse Gurl says, 'What are these?' I shrug. She then turns to Tom and says, 'Do you know who left these? I think the girls from first hour must have forgotten these ones sitting at our desks.'
This is when Tom tells us that *he* brought us (and the two gurls who sat next to us) flowers for Valentine's Day. In fact, he had a 5 gallon bucket next to his chair with more flowers as he was going to give EVERY GURL he sat by in EVERY CLASS he had that day a carnation. It wasn't something to be smooth or a ladies' man, either, b/c as previously mentioned, Horse Gurl and I were not even on the radar as hotties at my high school.
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?! God, talk abt sweet. It was the first time I'd ever received flowers for VDay (and the last time until I was 22 years old!), and there is no way he could have known how much it would mean to me as an awkward chubby insecure poetic brainiac 16 year old gurl. It's one of my most cherished memories.
If we have the ten year reunion we're supposed to have this summer... Tom better be there so I can thank him for making this lil' fat gurl's dreams come true in that tenth grade geometry class.
