What foods do you like that most people don't?

This is a spin-off of @EvelynD2 's post. It got me thinking because I LOVE (seriously 💖 love 💖 love 💖 love) black licorice! I'm super sad because I'm not supposed to eat it because it's one of the foods that is "banned" because it interferes with my blood thinner (yes, I have snuck some in once in a while!)

So, what foods do you like (or love) that most people wouldn't?

I like certain types of black licorice! The salted type from scandinavian countries and netherlands (i'm not actually sure where it all is over there? LOL)

I will have to think if there are any other foods..probably not though LOL

you would probably like it, as long as you like salt LOL!

it comes in lots of different ways and textures. I like the kind that are a bit hard.

Me too I always tell my daughter I'm going to die from eating it as too much is toxic but I crave it when my adrenal glands are fatigued which is a lot of the time

As being from the Netherlands I used to be a licorice-aholic, but my intestines reacted too much... :(
These used to be my favorite: sweet and soft and you could chew a whole bag away...

I don't like the salted or double salted (those @KristinCB is showing) though.

My favorite candy of all time is Dots. I love the gumdrops but everyone always thinks I am weird for loving them. lol

Brussel sprouts!! Love 'em. If only they have them here in China at an affordable price (and often), I'd snuck them into my cooking once a week.

How interesting that you crave it when your adrenals are fatigued. I wonder if there's some component that helps adrenals?

I love Brussels sprouts, too! Do you roast them or steam them? I've always wanted to try growing them.

watercress and choysum are great on stir fry beef! my husband doesn't like bok choy buy I love it!
I've had watercress on a sandwich instead of lettuce. I don't remember it having a flavor. I've never heard of choysum. I love learning about new things! I've never tried bok choy either, although we do have it in stores here.

I LOVEEE these, they are currently in my candy jar.

I love seafood- almost everything & prepared all the ways. I also like canned tuna fish & canned chicken. lol The smell grosses my family out- but it's so yummy doctored up with mayo & seasonings! ;)

We eat the sauer kraut like this, mashed with potatoes and bits of bacon

And the Brussel spouts...we eat them cooked or just like the sauer kraut, mashed
Oh my! I would love yours! I never eat one with mashed potatoes! I love SauerKraut (I wasn't sure it was what I was thinking lol because we call it choucroute and Google didn't want to translate it lol!). This one looks so yummy!

I love Gelatine dessert like Jello, my dad and son are crazy about it too but lots of people find it disgusting!lol!

Yes, sauerkraut and choucroute are the same (at least to my understanding when either in Germany or in France). It's cabbage made sour. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I eat and don't dislike it. It also depends on what it's served with. My mom used to make it from the oven with crumbled mashed potatoes on top and added bacon and fruit.

I love fresh seafood, but canned  🤣

I've never made Brussels sprouts that way... hmmm, I'm gonna have to try it!
Parmesan on root veggies and asparagus is good too. I roast them or pan sear to form a crust and then mix in pan and shake parm in. I buy real parm not the shaker but either works, I just prefer the flavor of real parm.
