when someone walks up to you and acts like they know you so well but you have absolutely no clue who the heck they are? LOL I was sitting in the truck waiting for my husband to come out of hte gas station and some girl walks up and says hey...how are you doing? Im like what? cause it kinda surprised me. She repeated it and then I just Im doing ok and she walked away. Maybe she thought she knew me and realized she didnt. But I have no idea who she was
 
Oh, I totally fake it. My memory is shot, so chance are the person DOES know me, and I'll remember them the next day or something. LOL.
 
LOL I mean I live in the same town I grew up in so maybe I did know her but dont realize who she is. And I am the one with the good memory here LOL. My husband can see people he has known for years and because of his injuries have no clue who they are. Luckily since they know he had TBI after the acccident and it effected his memory they will say who they are if he cannot remember.
 
Yeah... There is a total of 2,000 people in our county. 99% of the people know each other. Older people, who watched me grow up, always talk to me like we are old friends. I fake it until I figure it out or until they leave and I ask my husband who it was. lol.
 
This happens to me a lot. With my husband being in military intelligence, it's a pretty small community and there are only so many places they can be stationed. So, we can be stationed with someone, then years down the road, in another country, they'll walk up to me and ask how we've been, etc. lol I usually just try to fake it and hope that something they say will jog my memory. lol
 
I had this happen the other day. This lady started talking to me in the grocery line, asking how I was doing and all. I just went with it, asked her about herself, etc. She busted me later on facebook! LOL Turns out it was one of DH's co-workers. I've only met her in person once but we're facebook friends. Her profile picture is of a sports logo and she doesn't have pictures of herself on facebook so I don't see her face that often. LOL It cracked me up that she busted me on it though. She was like "you had NO clue who I was". Guilty!
 
I've never had that happen to me before, but if I did, I'd probably just politely ask them to remind me how we know each other.
 
lol!! I have had this happen... I just speak to them and ask them how in the world do I know them. I think of the people I know either know me as forgetful or extremely quiet...so I've never gotten a shocked look if I don't remember someone. My friend at work ALWAYS pretends to know peoples names....I just can't do that...I'd rather ask.
 
This happens to me all the time. we moved to this place a year ago and everyone knows each other here. They all know we're the 'new ones' but I'm having a hard time remembering who is who. We got Christmas cards in the mailbox this week from several names we have no clue about who they are, yet I'm sure they must be neighbours! It's embarrassing, I'm terrible at remembering names and faces.
 
I had this happen recently. I'm pretty sure it was the Mom of one of the kids in my DD's class because she kept asking about my DD. I have NO idea who her kid is which makes it kinda awkward: "And how is your, um, child?" . . . . o_O
 
what makes it even more awkward is my three sisters and I all sorta look alike. I mean not identical but you can tell we are related. So yea she might have thought I was one of my sisters too...I typically remember most people though.
