What do you listen to when you scrap?

Sometimes I listen to audio books and sometimes I have a movie going in the background. Do you listen to anything while you scrap?

Almost always audiobooks (but pause when typing journaling lol) but lately I've been watching/listening to olympics while I scrap :)

Sometimes someone else in the family will be watching TV, otherwise I listen to my Christian Playlist on Spotify or one of my others depending on the time of the year.

Not sure if the rest of you do this, but if I look at a certain layout, I can remember what song or movie was playing while I scrapped it!

It's either crime podcasts or youtube crime documentaries or audiobook or music. But mostly I listen to podcasts.

I will remember a book i was listening to (if i'm listening to an audiobook) or a show I was watching (if I do) with the kit I designed at the same time. I wondered if other people do this too, either with designing or scrapping! :)

Lately I haven't been listening as much as I find i got a bit more distracted than I thought

A lot of times I'm watching a live trial on YouTube - usually on Emily D Baker's channel. Kouri Richins trial starts this week so I'll be tuning into that and EDB will be covering it.

Yay, so glad I am not alone in this either!

I moved my laptop so I can't see the TV. I can hear it though.

I usually have the TV on as background noise, not necessarily watching it. A lot of the time it is on Oxygen channel (yes, I still have cable). I like the forensic crime shows and have probably seen most of them at least once. So it isn't like it is something that I have to pay attention to.

Right now I've got Weather Channel on listening to the coverage of the blizzard that is hitting the northeast while I'm checking out some forums. During extreme weather, I will turn on Weather Channel even if it is not hitting my area.

Mostly I listen to audio books but like Amie, I turn it off when I'm journaling. If it's Christmas time I will listen to Christmas music. Once in a while I'll put a silly Hallmark movie on.

I wish I could focus on both an audiobook and a page at the same time, but I either zone out on the book and have to go back and restart the chapter, or my page just . . . sits there while I zone out listing to my book! I listen to the local classical music station (super-nerd alert) or a playlist I'm in the mood for.

Same, or just music. But I always have to pause the movie or audiobook if I'm journaling, I can't concentrate on both. LOL!

Yes!!! This happens to me too. Sometimes I can remember minute details that happened in the background as I create a layout. I think it happens mostly when I’m in “flow” and my mind is laser focused. My unconscious mind is still taking in details that my conscious mind doesn’t even realize at the time and then later it all comes flowing back.

It depends on the complexity of the page and the mood I’m in.

Sometimes I’ll get so into making a page and then half an hour late realize I’ve been sitting in total silence! But the noise in my brain was loud and proud so I didn’t even notice. lol.

I listen to a lot of audiobooks. Sometimes shows. Sometimes music. Sometimes my kids are watching tv and I’m keeping an ear on them.

I usually have some random YouTube video or audiobook playing. If I really need to concentrate then I put on easy listening music or just instrumentals.

Like many of you, I listen to audiobooks or music depending on my mood.

But my little trick is when I'm doing my journaling, I switch over to Classical music. Studies have shown that listening to Classical music while studying actually increases information retention and improves focus. I think Mozart in particular was called out in the study as being really effective. It definitely works for me when it comes to writing!

Hope that suggestion might be helpful for somebody. :)

That is helpful!

I cannot listen to ANYTHING with words when I’m writing or reading a physical book. I need like total silence or very light and quiet misic.

I will sometimes have tv on in the background, something light or a re-run that doesn't need me to concentrate on it rather than the layout. Generally though, it's just me, my thoughts and my tinnitus!

I usually have some spotify on the background when I scrap, we don't have
any regular internet here where my boyfriend lives so we have to do it with
our hotspot on our phones
