What do you like to do on rainy days?

We are on day four of a ten day streak where we are having rain. I always loved to sleep when it was raining. However, I also love to read books, watch old movies and scrap when it's raining. What do you like to do when it's raining?

Lately, I find myself wanting to nap while it rains. My husband did too good a job training us to go to sleep to the sounds of a thunderstorm :ROFLMAO:

I also love to read, scrap, or head outside with my camera.

I absolutely love rainy days, EXCEPT if I have to leave the house. Then Grumpy Cheryl will complain about getting wet and her hair becoming a rat's nest. 😂

I also don't like bad thunderstorms like we've been having. Today we had lots of lightning, thunder, wind, and heavy rain. Our lights went out for about 10 seconds and then came back on immediately. We live near a major intersection in our town, so our power usually gets worked on quickly so the businesses around us have power.

Today, I spent all day reading. I did go out of the house to the library to turn in some new release books that I had finished so I could pick up three more new releases that were on hold for me. There was lots of lightning and thunder and strong wind gusts, but I was spared the rain until I parked under our carport! What luck!

If I'm not reading, I'm scrapping, or cross stitching, or decorating my home (right now, all of my summer/beach decor is in flux because I need to put away our 4th of July decor).

Napping is best during the rainy days, especially in the winter... but humid summer days not so much... it's so hot and I feel like I am submerging in water here...
I did say to Lan recently, on a rain/thunderstorm day, that it would've been lovely if he takes me out on a short date to a coffeeshop, but he's been too busy with the students' exams lately and I really don't want to go on public transport on my own if it's raining... so it became just a passing comment...

Just like Karli...I enjoy when it rains. I love watching outside over the lake and see how it changes all of the time.
We"ve had our fair share last week with several severe thunderstorms and I'd like to go and sit outside when they
are not close so I can watch the thunder. They all say I'm mad hahahaha

I'd love to scrap or watch some televison...

I used to love rainy days ... they were the best for opening up select windows (the ones that were well-covered and on the side of the house where the wind isn't blowing) and getting fresh air inside. It always puts me into a housecleaning mood.

These days, unfortunately, the barometric pressure changes that come along with rainstorms trigger my migraines nearly every. single. time. So now I just lie in bed, in the dark, with an ice pack, and wish I felt well enough to get up and clean house.

One of my favorite smells in the world is petrichor, that slightly metallic smell you get at the beginning of a storm where stone is wet. I don't know why, but it makes me feel at peace. :)

Oh, Angie! I am so sad to hear that something that once brought you so much joy now contributes to your debilitating headaches! I am praying that you find something that can give you relief. It is impossible to do much when your head feels like it is splitting open. I don't get migraines often, but when I do, they are horrible. {{{{Hugs}}}

I live in the high desert(foot of a mountain range), and we will have 5-6 days of clouds roll in and then get pushed out! The rain teases. Once it shows up, I will stand and watch it pour buckets from the front porch, then in the carport, and finally pull open the curtains and soak in the rain.
A huge pot of Green Chile Stew will simmer all day, and even my kids know this is the day to pop in and see Mom!

Luckily I work from home so usually I don't need to go out in it.....
but if I am not working, I love to sit on my covered patio and just watch the rain, sometimes I'll take my tablet out there and draw or laptop and scrapbook out there.
If I'm working and its warm, I ask the all littles mommas to all bring boots and we toss on ponchos and go puddle stomping.
