What do you do when you got to a salon to get your haircut and the stylist does not do a very good job? Do you say something then, go home and wash it and dry it and see how it looks or just pay and leave and not worry about it?

I went to get my hair cut today and the lady was kinda preoccupied. She kept talking to other people while cutting my hair and I told her I wanted long layers with the front angled and long. Needless to say she didnt really do it the way I like it but I paid anyhow because I just dont know how to approach that situation. Its not like its fixable once they cut so much off because I like long hair and didnt want any more cut offl

I stick with someone I know and trust. I don't switch around. When starting with someone though, I just stick with simple trims to get a feel first.

If someone did screw up, it would depend how screwed up it was. I often will mention that I want it shorter or I want this or that while they are cutting or when they get close to the end. Never left with a bad cut though I did once leave with a not so good eyebrow waxing.

My last 5 haircuts (roughly) have really disappointed me :( I just need to find someone who does a good job and stick with them forever lol!! I want it cut again but I am too afraid!

I have been going to the same girl for roughly four or five years now. She knows me and doesnt even need to ask what I want done because Ive been getting it the same way for awhile now. Im not sure if it was because she was preoccupied or if she just doesnt cut hair well. I didnt want to say anything because Im just not sure what to say plus she did not dry my hair so I could not really tell how it would look once its dried. I wear glasses and they always have me take them off while they are cutting so I cannot see how it looks til its done because my eyesight is really bad.

Oh, yeah, that does make it hard! I would call her and explain that once you got home and dried it and could actually see, you weren't happy with the results and ask her to fix it.

That's a tough one. My gal is SO good...I don't even tell her what to do. I just let her do what she does best!

I have said something though when someone did my boys hair years ago. They knew I was unhappy...I paid, but did not tip. Since this is someone you go to regularly, you need to have a talk to her, and let her know that you are not happy. If it happens again, I'd find someone new.

This is exactly why I drive 40 minutes to get my hair done.

If she regularly cuts you and does a good job, then I would ask to go back and have it fixed.

Ohhh I wasnt really clear on this the one who cut my hair this time around was new for me. The one whos been doing it quit her job between the last time I had it cut and now. I asked if she was working at another salon and nobody knew (or wouldnt tell me). The girl who cut my hair just said she was living in St. Cloud (which is about a 40-50 mile drive each way). I have no way to find out if she is maybe working at a salon over there. So Im just kinda sad tonight. It took me a really long time to find someone who could do my hair right because my hair is so weird. It is dry from well water and really long and curly if I do not blowdry it and super super thick. Its so thick if I wash it and do not blow-dry and went to bed with it wet it would still be wet in the morning. Alot of the girls Ive had cut my hair had problems because its so thick and dry. Oh well I guess its only hair and itll grow back.

I pay and often take a few days to make sure if I like it or not. If i am still unhappy I will call my stylist and then figure out a fix that I don't pay for! It's your hair so if they screw it up they need to fix it!

I picked "other." I am very particular about my hair, so if I don't like what's done to it, I say something immediately. I've actually found two good stylists since moving here, but they've both moved out of state after getting married. Blarg to that.

Anyway, I said other because I like to give the stylist a chance to correct the mistake as often as possible. If it's still not right, then I don't pay. I did this to my long-time stylist in Texas, and she totally understood. Now, she was able to fix it, but had she not, I wouldn't have paid for the cut.

I'm a b**** about my skinny girl hair. :p
