What are you reading?

I just read The Ideal Man by Julie Garwood. Hadn't planned on reading much this summer, but this was available from the library (I'd been on the waiting list). So, I decided to read it quickly. It was really good! Just a super easy quick somewhat suspenseful read. Nothing too heavy.

I just finished this one and started a Lisa Jackson novel. For the life of me, I can't remember the name, but it brings back characters from her previous novels set in Grizzly Falls. I love a good murder mystery / physcological thriller! :)

I just finished books 1 and 2 in the Wilderness series by Sara Donati. It's historical fiction, much like the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon but not quite so wordy. Excellent details!

Another good one I finished right before this was Winter Sea by Susanna Kearsley. I was so sad when the story was over!

And one more good one is Legacy by Susan Kay. By far the best novel I've ever read about Elizabeth I.

Me too, I'm 75% done now and loving it. It'll probably take me ages to find a book to read after it.

I just finished it! Great! Not excited about waiting 2 years for the 6th book!

Have you read any of the Infernal Devices series?

I am reading one by Faye Kellerman, The Forgotten. It is part of the Decker/Rina series, of which I have read a number and really enjoy.

I am jotting down the titles mentioned here to check into after I finish. I only download one book at a time to my kindle. ;)

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. Thriller. Don't want to put it down. Really, really good.

I started this the other day, and although it took me a good few chapters to really get into it, I am hooked now. I cannot wait to find out what is going on.

I just finished Something Blue by Emily Giffin It is second in a series - Read something Borrowed First.

I LOOVED this series! Emily Giffin is one of my fave authors. Her books are just a fun, easy read for me. She has a new book, Where We Belong, that just came out, and I'm dying to read it!

I just finished Folly Beach by Dorothea Benton Frank. I love her books because they're all primarily set in the SC Lowcountry, and it's fun to read about actual places I'm familiar with and have visited.

I also just finished Sarah's Key. Some friends and I have decided to start a book club locally, and this was our first selection. I'm really glad I read it because it's not something I would've probably chosen on my own, but I really enjoyed it.

Don't Laugh

Thanks for this thread...always looking for something good to read.

I read the 50 Shades series...I like the basic story, but yeah, by the 3rd book I was doing a lot of skimming.

I finished Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith a few weeks ago and honestly loved it. I laughed when a friend told me she was reading it because the title sounds so ridiculous, but I found it to be a very creative and dare I say genius twist on history. Don't watch the movie though, it's too different from the book and very disappointing.

I just finished "The Invisible Bridge" which was an amazing story but not really a light summer read... though I read it at the pool. :) I do recommend it though.

Currently reading "Elizabeth the Queen" by Sally Bedell Smith... if you are interested in what her life is really like (it's not titillating though I didn't realize that her sister and other relatives had such troubled personal lives!) then I recommend it. She is a hard-working lady!

Another series (light, easy read) I have recently enjoyed is "Her Royal Spyness" by Rhys Bowen... another series set in the same time (post WW I Britain) is the Maisie Dobbs series by Jacqueline Winspear.

Right now, I'm reading Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeannette Winterson. I am also reading the Land of Canaan series. It's about the Amish in Colorado.

I'm not reading anything at the moment :( I was on a roll for a while....read the whole fever series, then moved on to 50 shades. I read the first 2, kinda sorta liked them, but I guess not enough to read the 3rd. I have been in a slump since then. I read a couple of Amish fiction novels by Jerry Eicher last month, but haven't started anything else since. I've been wanting to read the sequel to Becoming Marie Antoinette, but haven't yet.

I just finished reading "The Apothecary's Daughter" by Julie Klassen and quite enjoyed it. I love period novels and movies and this one was quite nice.

I'm reading "Mariana" by Susanna Kearsley. I really loved the other book of hers that I read, "The Winter Sea" and this one is awesome also.

I'm reading the midnight breed series. If you like black dagger brotherhood you might like this series too!! :)

Whenever anyone mentions the words "if you like BDB, try..." i get all excited and have to check it out immediately! I love BDB! Always looking for something that might be equally awesome.

I am currently in the middle of Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. My husband and I saw the movie last week and I needed some clarification on it so I thought reading the book might clear up some of the confusion that I had. It isn't bad so far.

I just finished the first book of the Razorland series, I'm about to start reading the add-on to the first book.
