What are you getting your parents for Christmas?

I'm stuck as to what to get my mom and dad for Christmas. They don't really need anything. My dad's the worst, since he just buys what he wants when he wants it. Give me some good ideas!

I'm thinking about this necklace for my mom:

My parents know better, and still pick out 1 present a year that my brother and sister and I go in on together.

My mom wants the Provo Craft "Your Story" and my Dad wants a new NY Rangers jacket. I'm also planning on knitting my mom and blanket (she's been making lap blankets for vets, so I thought maybe she'd want one too).

My mom also gets EVERYTHING she wants - she just goes out and buys it - so I get her things she would never get herself - She always wanted to play the piano - so one year I got her lessons - the same with golf - we try and listen for the things she wanted to do - This year its 4 cooking lessons -

We usually get my dad his favorite zip up sweatshirts that he wears practically yearound and a movie. My mom just wants a couple of calendars this year. Easy peasy.

My Il's are a little more tricky. Usually a wine/cigar basket makes them happy though.

My parents don't need a thing and I have the hardest time figuring out what to buy them for Christmas...My mom will most likely get a Coach bag and I'm still debating for my dad...He wants new golf clubs and since I can't afford the set he wants I may just contribute to the golf club fund...

I don't know what I'm getting my parents...I'm sure they'd like a Shutterfly book but I don't have the money for that. I did make one for my ILs though, but I got a free code for that one. My parents pretty much just get what they want, so I'd have to get them something they can't do for themselves like magnets or something.

this year I am giving a large family gift to my mom and step dad and brother of family pictures. we are all flying from different places to be toghether for them. I am really excited about the gift cause my mom and step dad have never not even on their wedding had there pics togehter.

We stick to small gifts for adults, and I don't even try to buy them something because they buy themselves the things they really want. This year each of them is getting a Shutterfly calendar to bring to work plus a gift made from DS's artwork (a school fundraiser at his preschool). My mom is getting a totebag and I'm blanking on what we ordered for my dad--maybe a notebook? All year long they comment on the new calendar pages and tell me how much they enjoy the calendar--I'm lucky that it really is something they value more than the little things I'd pick up for them at the mall.

Last year I made like 30 frames of pics for my Dad and I will prolly do a few new ones for him this year along with something big that my bro's and I will go in on (I have 3 brothers). My MIL will get a calendar and then something I think is special that she will put away and I will never see again........A few years ago I got her a beautiful piece of stained glass (that she had mentioned she was looking for) and I paid a pretty good amt of $$$ for and my hubby just put it up this past summer :cursing: 2 years ago I got her a thing from a website I found that told the story of her family (maiden) name with the Coat of Arms, that was pretty pricey too...well I think hubby hung that up the same time he hung up the stained glass...:cursing: Please just once appreciate the fact that I LISTEN to you and but stuff that you actually want and the thought that I put into it..net to mention the $$$. I guess that is what I get for being the OUT-LAW!!!!!

Sorry for the ramble.....I am quite talkative today

My parents have both passed away so I just have to buy for my in-laws and I usually just buy them a gift-card. I have been with my husband since 1991 and for about 10 of those years I tried to do something really nice for his parents but everything we ever bought was thrown in the garage or piled in a closet so I now just get like 30-40 dollars in gift cards for a restaurant. They are on a fixed income so those gift cards are a way for them to eat out and not have to worry about where the money comes from.

My dad usually has a list a mile long...this year we're getting him an extension handle and foot control for his trolling motor. I know...super exciting right. Just wait it gets better...my mom wants wheel covers for her van. My parents always want practical things which are no fun to buy. LOL

My in-laws...who knows...they usually give us an idea right before Christmas.

My mom and step-dad are getting an enlarged framed picture of my son, a calendar and a hybrid album. My dad and step-mom are getting the picture, the album and a smaller framed photo. My in-laws are getting the picture and album. I went easy and homemade this year.

Well I'm a bit stuck as well....

MIL I know loves pics of the grandkids...so got pictures of the two younger ones made on the homeschool picture day at Lifetouch...need to get the 19yo's picture taken for her too. I know she really liked the *Warm Vanilla Sugar body butter* by Bath & Body Works I bought for her last year...she uses it on her feet...she has been going through chemo and said it really helped her feet. So I will buy her more of that. FIL I have no idea.

Stepdad...I have no idea...but my mom should give me some ideas. My mom... hmmm no ideas as of yet. Maybe I will ask dh if we can buy her a ceiling fan for another room (did this for her birthday and she loved it) and have him install it. ...but that is all I have come up with so far. She loves QVC so buys anything she wants. ...and I can't afford what she doesn't buy... lol
