What a *day*!

OK, first of all, who knew that living in northern Arkansas, we'd be dealing with the effects of Gustav? Well, we had rain pouring down all day long, and I was without power a grand total of about 9 hrs.

PLUS Kendra stayed home from school sick.

Blah. This was just a completely wasted day. I'm ready to go to bed and try again tomorrow.

Let's hope that I have power long enough tomorrow that I can finish my kit for the week! LOL!

I'm so sorry Libby! My in-laws (in Crossett) have been without power since midnight last night. We didn't even lose it here! I hope tomorrow is better for you!

Oh no Libby, at least it was just some rain and well power out but it could have been worse for you guys with that terrible storm. Hope you are able to rest up tonight!

nothing but **hugs** for you, sweetie! have a nice sweet sleep then wake up to a better day tomorrow :)

Oh Libby that totally stinks, girl!! I hope you do have power today!! We're actually starting to see the effects up here in Illinois/Missouri too. They're expecting us to get 3-5 inches of rain out of this - yikes!!!

And the rain is heading north - although they are projecting it to hit the eastern side of PA - although we'll probably get rain here on the Western side too! Hope you get your kit done Libby!!!

We never lost power but we've had a ton of rain and some crazy wind! There were tornadoes about a half hour from here on Tueday evening, but we were spared thank goodness!

We are getting rain here (Illinois)...but we really need it so I am not gonna complain!!! I hope today is better for you girl!!!!

oh that's awful! I can't imagine entertaining a sick kid with no power (i.e., no TV!)

So, I'm curious, how long can you go without power before you have to throw out everything in your fridge/freezer??

Well Dawn, that's a good question. LOL!

So far I *think* everything is ok. I just didn't open the fridge/freezer while the power was out.

Now back earlier in the summer when we were without it for 24 hrs, I lost my ice cream and some of my frozen stuff. My refrigerated items were still ok though.

That sucks Libby!

We lost power for 3 days, the stuff on the bottom of the big freezer was still frozen solid. I think as long as you don't open it, you have a better chance of it lasting longer. Granted, it was the middle of winter, so when the power went out, the house became a deepfreeze in and of itself. I did toss everything that was in my fridge.

We are storming here today and lost power once today too.

What a pain! Growing up, we'd get big thunderstorms in the summer that would sometimes take the power out and it was fun then... but now, not so much!

Hope it's better today!
