aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! lol

so my computer bit the dust... totally.. POOF bad bad bad lol. After fighting with it for hours and hours, trying to repair windows etc etc... I had to reformat my hard drive *sobbing* ........ poor naked windows! LOL. I had *most* of my files backed up.. it had been a few months, but i'm not really concerned over what was lost.. just glaaaaaaaad to be back amongst the living !!!
 
I feel for ya! Been there done that unfortunately.

My day started after not a lot of sleep (teenaged ds having nightmares)...3 minutes before alarm goes off (had just fallen back asleep for 3rd time since 5am)...my 20yo ds called to say he had just been in an accident! He was okay...but what a way to wake up! Who needs coffee to jolt you awake?

...then I had to get 2 kids up (with sleep disorders), give them meds, tell them to get dressed, no change...it's not 70 outside it is 30 and windy!...son calls again for advice... mom calls says I NEED you as son calls again...son ok...call mom back & she wants ME to look up on GPS directions to her doctor appt she has to be at this morning...I have 3 doctor appointments to get the boys to in less than an hour and I don't have my shower! Told mom to look up on googlemaps as I don't have time (and told her what all was going on)...and she hangs up on me!

Arggghhh....leave for doctor finally...and then we get 5 blocks from home...did I close garage door?...arggghhh back home again...get to doctor...we get home 3 1/2 hours later... sigh. That is how my day started...how about yours?
 
Ugh, computer probs :thumbdown: Mine still scares me and I fear it's definitely living on borrowed time. Glad you got it going, but wiping everything and starting over is teh suck.
 
lol yeh I wanted to cry.. you should have seen me joanie.. ^_^ I had no other options though... the windows repair even gave up.. and just started going black o_O
 
I would've cried and screamed and had multiple hissy fits. I don't cope well with this shizz.

I came back to my computer the other day to see the weird Mac black screen where it tells you you need to power down and restart. It does random weird things now, and I'm pretty sure that power surge & outage on Christmas Eve wigged it and the EHDs out bad. It won't read the one EHD at all now. :( Before it was just slow, but I knew I was seriously lacking RAM... now it acts like it's got one foot in the grave. :unsure:
 
I think I would have a mental breakdown. mine keeps doing the blue screen of death thing on me... I am afraid...very afraid...

glad you are back, and that most of your stuffs is backed up safe and sound.
 
The same thing happened to me- my old laptop bit the dust, and it would've cost so much to replace the hard-drive, that I just bought a new computer!

Luckily though, I was able to retrieve all my files thru "safe mode" and put them on a flash drive to transfer to my new laptop. I hate computers!!!! But I'm loving my new one, so it's all good for now! I'm just praying I don't get the BSOD messages since it's Vista!!!! I hate Vista!!!!

Anyways, I hope you get your sanity back! :)
 
La, was it a virus? My husband's lappy that we bought in September crashed last night and we can't get it up and running. Now I have to mail it to Gateway for repairs.
 
So sorry Lauren! I just did that last week on the desktop. Only when I reinstalled windows I somehow lost the sound driver. But the desktop is almost 5 years old which is like 73 years old in computer years.
