Well... we had the oncology appointment....

Sara - I put it on FB, but I'll do it here, too, just in case. Seek some alternative treatments, trials, other options, and another oncologist's opinion. Make sure you've got all of your bases covered about what treatments might be available for Jeff before just jumping into this (or do so in the meantime). And if you feel it's time - seek out Cancer Treatment Centers of America. They are all about 'whole' healing. One of my best friends was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer when he was 29 - and beat it with their help (those are huge odds to beat, too).

We're praying you through this...and this is silly, but oh so appropriate right now...may the odds be ever in YOUR favor!! And may the Grace and Mercy of God go before you!!

Great advice!

You all are in my thoughts and prayers...

Sara... I know there are no words right now ,but know that we are thinking of you and praying that all is well for you. Lots of hugs to you and your family! ♥

I am so sorry Sara. I can't even imagine how difficult this all is for you and your family. I think Traci has it right. Doctors don't know everything and I would take those "odds" they gave you today with a grain of salt. Please know we are all here for you. Sending lot of prayers and hugs your way!

I'm sosrry Sara.....keeping up the fight is half the battle and we are all her for you and Jeff

I'm so sorry, Sara. ((HUG)) i'm choosing to believe your Jeff WILL push through this, and you will too! I'm still praying!

(and now i'm going to go give the hubs a hug.)

So sorry Sara! It's hard to wrap MY mind around it, I can't imagine what you are thinking and feeling. Prayers coming your way...

And I wanted to echo what Darcy said. My sister researched alternative methods extensively when her fiance had lung cancer. I can get you loads of stuff to read to start with if you want, just let me know.

I just don't know what to say, Sara. But . . . lots of hugs, love, positive thoughts, and prayer are coming at you.

My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you Sara. The girls have said it all already. I, too, think that you guys are going to win no matter of what the statistics says.

I am so sorry Sara. Words can't express who sorry I am.
Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way. Hang in there!

I'm so sorry. On Jan 1st my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Stage IV Lymphoma and her survival rate is 30%, and she's much older than your husband. So far the tumors (which were everywhere, really) have shrunk 70-80%, and her outlook is good. I know it's different for her though- five years in her life (if she makes it that long) is a lot different than for your husband. But I have been surprised throughout her treatment that she's always done better than people expected her too... Praying that is true for your husband as well.

I'm so sorry Sara, my heart breaks for you. There's some good advice on this thread. Please try to take care of yourself too, I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry Sara, I wish you would have gotten better news, but we are all pulling for you hubby and it sounds like there are a lot of encouraging posts here with other people/family members who have gone through cancer treatment which worked, he will be one of them, I just know it! Big hugs to you!

so so sorry Sara...I know that's not the news you guys were hoping for...continuing to send lots of prayers for Jeff and your family!

Oh Sara, I'm so sorry to hear that.... Words are not enough. It's a good thing he's decided to do the chemo. My thoughts are with you.

I am heartbroken for you, Sara. You got some great advice here - both regarding focusing on the treatment rather than on the odds, and about seeking other options. I am praying hard for you. (((hugs)))

Mary that would be awesome, and so sweet of you to offer.. I dont' even know where to start.

I'm so sorry Sara - this is heartbreaking news. My thoughts are with you + your family. May he beat those odds.

Sara, My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. Doctors can sometimes be so hard when giving odds. But what we all have to remember is that they are essentially guess no on except God knows are outcomes in advance. Doctors give guess, estimates, and predictions kind of like the weather man. They try but sometimes their forecasts can do harm to our spirits. Good luck to your entire family!
