Okay, sorry it took me so long to post this. It's been a very busy and long couple of days (and nights)!! So here's my very quick birth story!! As many of you know, last Saturday, my doctor told me I was 3-4 centimeters dilated. I was instructed to not go back to work. So Monday morning I was laying in bed getting ready for a whole lot of relaxing, when at 7:10 I had my first contraction. It wasn't a Braxton Hicks - it was low in my abdomen and in my back too - ouch!! It lasted about a minute, so it definitely caught my attention right away!! The next one came 10 minutes later. Then another came 10 minutes after that. I called Nate to let him know I kept having these contractions and that I would keep him posted if after an hour I was still having them. Well, I did and I ended up calling his mom (she works right here in town) and I called the hospital. They told me to come in so they could hook me up and check me out. Nate's mom came over to take me to the hospital. As soon as they hooked me up and checked me, they said I wasn't going anywhere because I was between 5 and 6 centimeters dilated. This was at 9:30 am. Nate got there close to 11:00. They gave me my epidural shortly after he got there. At about 12:30 my doctor broke my water. He said that he would be back in a couple of hours to check me. HAHA. So Nate and his mom went a few minutes away to get themselves lunch. About 5 minutes after they left, I felt that need to push. The nurse came in and saw the look on my face and she knew she had to check me. She checked and sure enough I was fully dilated!! Yikes!! They had to get everything set up and I kept looking at the clock to see what time it was and worrying that Nate would not be back in time. As soon as I picked my phone up to call him, he came through the door. About 10 minutes later, they were all set up and ready for me to go. It took 2 pushes and there was sweet baby Claire Olivia. She was born at 1:02pm on November 24. She weighed 6 pounds 4 ounces and was 19.75 inches long. She's perfectly healthy and absolutely beautiful!! She's such a good and content baby too and I'm completely IN LOVE!!! Here are a few pictures - there will be more to come!!
