Weight Watchers Online . . . again

Okay - I think I'm going to take the plunge. I really NEED to get on track with this. After talking to my doctor last week, I'm not going to be able to exercise the way I want to for at least another two years, so I have to attack the eating side of things. I know there have been multiple WW threads lately, but I wasn't finding exactly what I was really looking for (I'm not sure I really know what I'm looking for). I have never done a program like this before. I know lots of people that have had success, but I'm a little nervous to take the leap. I KNOW I won't be good at leaving the house and going to meetings, so I'm definitely planning on going the online route.

Talk to me girls - anything you have to say about WW Online.

I love this threat Lydia! I just started WW one week ago and am still trying to figure things out!! I'm loving it so far. All of the fruits and veggies are ZERO points so you can eat all you want!!!

After the birth of Baby #3, I lost 86 lbs on WW ONLINE!!! With 10 lbs to go, I did start going to the meetings just so I could get lifetime status and could continue to go for free as long as I stayed within my goal weight and weighed in once a month.

Doing it online is totally doable!!! That is what I am doing again to lose the weight form Baby #4! LOL You can totally do it online and still lose the weight. We are all here to help out too!!

Good luck!!!!

I just started last week. I did it about 10 years ago and went the meeting route. This time I'm going the online route. I've found it to be a bit time consuming the first week trying to get all the foods that you normally eat logged in, my activity points added in, etc. It has been getting easier though since you can add foods you eat regularly to your favorites and just drag and drop them into your day. It has really helped me see how things I eat add up. I lost 5 pounds in my first week.

I've been doing it one line since the first of the year and it has worked well for me, discounting the last two weeks when I've struggled. The trick for me is to track, track, track! If I track, I do so much better than if I don't and try to come back to it later. For instance, I didn't track yesterday and when I put my food in this morning, I almost fell out of my chair. I'd gone 20 points over!!! Granted, I have my weekly points that I took if from, but I still couldn't believe how horrible I had done. Today I tracked faithfully and am now 5 points under for the day, so I can have a snack later if I need to. For me it is all about portion control, I weigh and measure everything, and tracking. I am so hoping that I can salvage the rest of this week and lose by my weigh in on Saturday. Good luck with the program Lydia. :)

I just lost 36 pounds with a combo of WW and working out. It's definitely doable. A benefit to using their online tools is you also get access to the smartphone apps. They have the regular app and they also have a scanner app which is really cool. I think knowing that you are paying monthly for the tools is a good incentive to actually use it.

Good luck to you!

Okay - so I took the plunge. There is a lot to take in right now, but I'm excited about it. For me, the main thing is definitely portion size. I'm glad that I can still have my ice cream . . . I just have to have a smaller portion (I think I need to go buy some smaller bowls :)). And, I'm definitely going to be measuring a lot for a while. But, I'm feeling hopeful about this working for me. I'm at the point where if something doesn't change soon, I'm going to have to buy the next size up in clothes, and I refuse to do that!

One thing I was wondering about: Do you all kind of have an idea of how many points you will eat for breakfast, for lunch, for dinner, for snacks etc? Like, do you try to keep breakfast within a certain percentage of your total points each day? I'm still trying to figure that out so that I don't keep myself hungry all day so that I can eat at night. I definitely don't want to be doing that.

Thanks for the encouragement girls. I'm really hoping this will work for me.

I usually do. I get 26 points a day. Dinner is always my largest meal. So, I try to keep my breakfast at 4 points, my lunch at 7-8 points, and the rest for dinner. My snacks are usually fruits/veggies so those are nothing.

I'm not a huge breakfast eater which is why that number is so low. I generally have a banana and some oatmeal or a light english muffin with some SF preserves.

It does help to kind of plan your day of eating ahead of time so that you aren't scrambling at the end of the day to either save points or eat more. Although, I do like when I have leftover points because that's when I'll have myself a treat. LOL!

Oh, one more thing. Weight Watchers has some pre-portioned ice cream cups that aren't too bad. The mint chip is my favorite. You have to get used to the small portion because if you are anything like me you can eat a pint of Ben and Jerry's in one sitting. :)

Um yeah. I measured out a 1/2 cup of ice cream for myself last night, and it just seemed so small. Lol. I usually eat a MUCH larger portion. :D But, it is nice to know that you can have a treat at the end of the day. I know I couldn't do a diet where certain foods were forbidden.

Oh, me too. I heart me some ice cream. I usually fill my bowl. I'm very generous. Hahaha!

That's what I love most about WW. I don't have to completely give up the foods that I love. I just have to eat them moderately and account for them. Easy enough for me.

Good luck to you. Seems there are quite a few gals here doing WW now so you'll have a wonderful support group. :)

I also get 26 points per day. I usually always have 3 hard boiled eggs for breakfast-that's 6 points. Not too exciting, but I think it's a fairly healthy breakfast and it's easy. I haven't really gotten a plan down for the rest of the meals. I'm trying to stick with some sort of chicken for dinner since it seems so much lower in points than beef. I'm not a big fruit eater so I've been experimenting with snacks. My hubby bought me some ww caramel swirl ice cream cones that are REALLY good. That's a nice treat after dinner.

When I was doing WW, I allotted a certain number of points per meal plus kept a few in reserve that I could add to any meal or snack I wanted to throughout the day. I'm counting calories instead of points right now, but IIRC my favorite breakfast was 5 points for a whole wheat English muffin (1-2 pts depending on brand) with melted cheese (3 pts) and then later in the morning coffee with milk (1 pt) and a piece of fruit.

I love ice cream too, so I get the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. They are awesome and only 4 points. I say only, because to me it is worth 4 points to have ice cream every now and then. Okay, lately it has been almost every other day. :o

I always have the same thing for breakfast. Special K Almond Vanilla. I love that stuff! I keep breakfast right around 6 points and lunch the same most days. My big meal is usually supper. I do better with lunch and breakfast because I tote it to work and my portion control is really controlled. lol

First - congrats to you Lydia for taking the first step and I wish you tons of success!

I am in my 5th week on WW. I do go to the meetings weekly. I tried it online last year and failed so this time I wanted to do it differently because it helps me be more accountable. I just didn't seem to have enough determination to do it by myself. Well, not by myself but ykim. ;)

The first few weeks were all about figuring out what foods to buy, what to eat, getting used to the plan and portions. Now I can shop without a list each week which is nice. And you get used to the portions. The first 5 days were the hardest for me and I still have my cravings here and there but, like someone else said...the nice thing is that you can still have all the things you love, just in moderation. I love all of the WW and skinny cow ice creams. ;)

Like Lorie, I track every single thing that goes in my mouth. I log online probably 3x a day to make sure I keep it up. On the days that I haven't....I did exactly like Lorie and went way over my points. It gets away so fast and those points add up fast.

I usually eat between 4 and 6 points for my breakfast. I almost fell over when I saw how little of a portion of cereal I get. :crying: I typically eat a mini whole wheat bagel with the WW cream cheese and blackberries, strawberries or a banana. Lunch I eat between 6 and 8 points and it's typically something like turkey breast, cottage cheese, fruit, salad or even a lean frozen meal. Dinner is typically about 8 points. I eat grilled chicken breast almost every night. But, I love it so that is okay with me. I usually have some kind of fresh veggie with dinner and fruit. We eat a baked potato several times a week too with just light margarine and chives.

I was at a plateau before I started and WW got me past it. I do work out too but I think you can totally just follow the food plan with light exercise and be successful.
