Weekly or Monthly Planners?

Are you a planner? Do you use planners on a daily, weekly or monthly basis? If so, please share!!!

I've always enjoyed using planners. Years ago I was big into Webster's Pages planners. I would jazz them up with all sorts of embellishments. Then my DIL showed me the Happy Planner she was using, so I jumped on board. I decorated the pages for a few years, but sort of let that fall to the wayside. That is until a few months ago when I saw a layout created by @Cheryl Ashcraft featuring her beautifully decorated HP's. And that got my creative juices flowing again! (Thanks Cheryl!!)

Since then I have started decorating each week. It has been fun growing my sticker and washi collection (mostly through eBay and FB Marketplace). I created templates that I print off and put into my spread each week to track the SSD tasks I do weekly as well as the part time hours I work each week at a Second Hand Store. This is next week's layout I just finished.

Your planner is so pretty, Jill!
I adore those pretty planners that people make, but I am more of an 'in my head' planner, so those pretty planning books will end up unused if I ever bought them...

I've been using this same planner (over the years I've customized it more & more for my needs) and love it! It keeps my crazy busy schedule organized & I like to use different colored pens for each family member.

Nice Amie! My planner isn't really that full of things to do - lol. I can see why you and your busy family would use a planner all of the time!! :)

I used to keep a planner but now I just keep track of everything on a large desktop calendar or on my iPhone. I loved jazzing up the pages with pretty holiday themed stickers but don't do that anymore. I do have a Bible journal that I have used sticked and stamps on, though.

I love planners, but my week changes too much, so it's easier for me to keep a digital record. I adore the stickers and everything on physical planners though.

That's so pretty, Jill! I used to use a weekly planner by Katie Daisy, but I eventually had to accept that owning a planner and using a planner are two different activities...and I was only excelling at the one. I now keep track of the things I need to do in a notebook I store in my purse; sometimes it's effective, and sometimes it's just sitting in my purse.

I have a weekly Happy Planner and would probably lose half my to-do list without it. It's the Classic Vertical layout so there's 3 boxes per day and the middle one is always just checklists for things I need to accomplish. Top box is appointments and bottom box is often decorated, although the decorations are sometimes more lists. The sidebar has a ton of trackers in it too.

I also have a ridiculous book tracker in the back that I somehow managed to fill last year

I adore planners, but with life and work, I find that it just becomes another task to sit down and "pretty it up" plus enter all the details/appts so I tend to just use Google calendar and then we sync it as a family and we can all add our stuff together.

One day when I'm retired I want to have planners and make them pretty....lol

I hope you can make them pretty when you retire Kiana! :)

Good for you for keeping 2 HP's up! Especially the tracker! Impressive!! I love the layout you created showing your planners!

I know the feeling of owning and using a planner - lol. There have been plenty of years I used them for a few months and then tucked them away! Katie Daisy planners are so nice!

Do you keep the digital record on your phone? Or desktop/laptop? I'm sure it works great when things change so often!

Good for you for being able to keep things in your head Sherly!! In my old age, I definitely need to write things down! Ha ha!

I would love to start a Bible journal @EvelynD2. I have an extra Happy Planner so I might have to start one! Thanks for the nudge!

I use both Google Calendar and a physical planner. Things have been so topsy turvey lately that I haven't used my paper planner much. 🤪 I really hope life settles down and I can get some order back into my life. :ROFLMAO:

I use google calendar (syncing between my phone & computer) so I can keep my husband in the loop on our events, and keep my to do's on Remember the Milk (which also can be used on my phone & computer). I used to have a physical wall calendar and then a small purse calendar for all that stuff but once I could go digital I did. I love seeing the pretty planners of others though =)

I have a large dry-erase calendar that we glued to the side of the refrigerator in our laundry room. With three kids in year-round sports, it was a must to make sure we got the kids to all their practices & games & other activities! Now, however, with my daughter a senior in college, my oldest son working his first full-time job, and our youngest no longer playing sports, the calendar is pretty bare, sadly.

I love the idea of a planner, but these days, not sure what I would write on it! They are very pretty, though!

I hope things slow down a bit for you soon Tammy! I have to say, I'm thrilled to see you've been able to create layouts lately!! <3 I've missed your pages!

The white board was a great idea!! I honestly probably don't have enough to use a planner, but it is fun to decorate - lol!

I will have to check out the Remember the Milk app!! Sounds interesting!!

These are the Happy Planner spreads @JillW referenced. I have been hit and miss using them for the past couple of years. I do find that having a planning session at the end of the month for the next month works best for me. I also use Google Calendar. In both instances, it only helps me when I am disciplined and actually LOOK at both calendars. The Happy Planner is more like a memory planner, where I jot all kinds of things, including my schedule, appointments, social events, etc. I know there are a lot of stickers on these spreads, but I've had these supplies for so long that they are starting to lose their adhesive properties and I have to use a glue stick to make them stick. I'm trying to use all the old stickers up!

It's a brain exercise I give myself, I think it is necessary since I am mostly home anyway. The only thing I jot down weekly is grocery list, especially the kids' requests. They'll roast me for having another week wait if I forget to purchase their choice of fruit or breakfast bread.

I enjoy buying planners... using them? That's a whole other can of worms.
Oh girl, been there and done that! LOL! Okay, so I will share that I bought THREE of them for 2026 until I finally settled on the one I'm using! ha ha!!
