What's going on this weekend for you & yours?

We are getting our Christmas tree tonight (yippee!) and taking Mister Moose on his first train ride on the Candy Cane Express tomorrow (double yippee!). My grandfather, who is currently dealing with stage four cancer for the second time in three years, is going with us tomorrow and I can't even tell you how happy that makes me. We'll have church on Sunday, and then I think Miss Monkey and I will probably put together the gingerbread house kit I got at Walmart today.

I don't think we have plans... I have so much to do - Thanksgiving stuff is still sitting on the table, needing to be put away. The tree is up, but not decorated... school stuff is a mess... not even ready for any Christmas tradition... have a cold that will not go away... bleh.... just struggling so much this year. :(
 
We're having dinner with friends tonight and then going to our town's tree lighting ceremony, followed by a birthday party for another friend. Tomorrow, my daughter's cheer team is having their showcase, where they're debuting this year's competition routine to friends and family, followed by the team Christmas party that evening. And the bf and I have another friend's birthday party to go to while she's doing that. Things are busy, busy from now through Christmas!
 
oops! Wrong thread! this weekend we have eye doctor for hubby cause his glasses broke and that's about it! He's working tons so just hanging with the kiddos!
 
The usual weekend sports practices and playdates. We also have to go to the mall because 2 of the kids need new/repaired glasses. I'm planning to do some scrapping, finish rewatching a few old episodes of Gilmore Girls, and then *finally* watch the new episodes.

This weekend starts off a crazy 2 weeks. Rian's 8th birthday is tomorrow and it lands on a special day since it's also her baptism (church thing). We have that early in the morning then a part at our place after with family and some friends. We'll take her out to eat and shopping tomorrow night. Sunday is my dad's birthday and we'll have dinner and dessert that night. Church in the morning. I'm struggling with Christmas this year but I'm kinda struggling in general so I'm trying to get in the spirit for my kids I think I'll be better after this crazy weekend! We don't have anything next weekend and I'm hoping I can keep it that way.

We're mostly staying home this weekend after a crazy few weeks... I've just spent three hours this morning weeding/tidying up garden beds and my vege patch and I had intended to mop my floors (exciting stuff I know) but my back is so stuffed after the gardening that I think the floors will have to wait until next weekend. If I can move tomorrow I might play some tennis with my son... but we're in for a heatwave so maybe I'll just stay inside with the air con on and do nothing!!
 
There's a kid birthday party and a hockey game to go to... Thinking we might see the Fantastic Beasts movie too.
 
I worked my day job today and my night job tonight. Cheyanne worked tonight also.

Tomorrow I work my day job and then my night job and Cheyanne has 3 exams to study for.

Sunday we're going out to chop down our tree so I can get it in the house and up with the lights on before I leave for a 6-hour afternoon/evening shift and Cheyanne studies some more. Then when I get home at 8:30 we'll decorate it :)

Not a very fun weekend, but it is what it is :p
