Websites?

Brodo gettin her Swerb on
So we decided that we want to make a website for our wedding. So many people are traveling, and we want a centralized place for all our information (hotel rooms, airports, registries, area attractions, etc etc etc).

My sister has experience with websites, and since she lost her job last week, she offered to work on it for us. So, where can we buy a website? I want to get started looking into it while she's visiting some friends, so we can get it taken care of soon and I can send it out with our save the dates.

Just go to godaddy.com and buy a domain...then find hosting. I personally use nohasslehosting.net...it's cheap (the cheapest package would be all you need, really) and Candi (the owner) is awesome...she's gotten me out of more messes (that I've caused, lol) than I care to count...

You can get one free, if you want! Webs.com offers free sites and are totally customizeable (sp?). You may not get the exact domain you want, but you can always go to GoDaddy and get your domain name...then transfer it over. I think it's less than $20. I don't know a lot about websites/design, but HTH! :)

You can buy a domain at: http://godaddy.com and I suggest that you get hosting for it at eKreations at: http://ekreations.com. The owner of it is named Karma and she's a digi scrapper!!

You don't need to transfer over any domain names if you pay for hosting first. Karma at eKreations has VERY reasonable prices - I pay $3.99 and $5.99 for my two websites.

If you get hosting from Karma, she'll send you the nameservers. Then register a domain at Go Daddy and then put your nameservers in when you register. That way, when it goes live, it will already point to the website. You'll just need to put stuff up on it.

I've done this MANY years both for my own site and for sites that I'm paid to create.

There are several wedding websites the offer free personalized sites. Theknot.com does it, but it's not as customizable as I would like. Plus, I would kinda like to have one in case I get more into my photography and start doing it as a side business sorta thing.

So, godaddy.com works for me :)

We did a site for our wedding and it made things SOOO much easier! We posted updates for OOT friends/fam and let ppl RSVP on there - so easy!
