We got initial results on my husband's lung damage

My husband saw the pulmonologist today. The dr's words were "When you got here your lungs were actually scary bad." They said he has about 50% breathing capability. He is on antibiotics, a nasal spray, an inhaler and has multiple tests ordered. I told the primary care doctor months ago that he needed to see a lung doctor. I knew there was serious issues with his lungs. So now we just wait and see what the other tests show. Not sure if his condition will improve or not.

I am really hoping. He wont get into the opthamologist until the day after thanksgiving. So hopefully that will be the same. We already knew there was damage there but he has not seen the eye dr since October of last year I think.

Ugh, you guys have been through so much. Fingers crossed this is the start of better health management for him now.

The really bad part is I have been trying to get him into a lung dr since October of last year. The blood work so far is just testing for allergies, B12 levels and his thyroid levels. But they did xays and I think the dr ordered an MRI.

And thanks guys. Everyday I have with him is really a blessing. Even if he is sick I am just thankful I have another day with him.

I'm sorry you guys have had it so rough. I hope that he's finally getting in to see the right docs and they'll be able to help.

{{{HUGS}}} Jessica but so glad to hear he at least it getting to the right doctors finally~

Man! I really really hope some answers are on the horizon for y'all! Yay for finally getting to the doctor that is going to start getting things moving for him. Bless his heart!

Seriously ... whether a doctor agrees or not, what harm is there in letting a patient see a doctor for God's sake! This frustrates me so much when doctor's will not listen to patients. I am so sorry you are going through so much unbelievable crap, you guys have been through more than anyone ever should have to. So sorry hun, I really hope this is the start of things happening for you, for him <3

It does me too Tanyia. I am not sure if this is because the dr could not or would not refer him. She has always wanted to just refer to one specialist at a time.

I hope they find him some real relief. I'm sorry, but if your doctor does not listen to you, it is my opinion that you need a new doctor. Changing doctors is no picnic, but having one that does not listen or respond to your needs is far worse. I am lucky that my doctor respects me and understands that I am in charge of my care as much, if not more so, than she is. I wish you all the best in the world Jessica. :)
