we got a loan for a new furnace!

we went to our bank, its a credit union. i thought they were going to say no. we have repo which we do pay $100 a month on, an old checking account we owe on that just sent us a letter saying they'll settle for $300 instead of the full $500 so we'll pay that off here soon, and also we owe about $1000 in back state taxes. it was there fault; afew years ago we filed our taxes while stationed in germany and we got back $800. we thought it was odd, but didnt think much of it. they last summer we got a letter saying it was a mess up and we were supposed to pay it back! anyway, those 3 things look bad on our credit. but, they called us back and said they will give us a loan for the furnace plus extra to pay off those state taxes!!! isn't that sweet of them??? i love that bank ! they are always so friendly in there anyway but now i adore them they just want to know exactly how much the furnace will be and the taxes. they want to make out the checks to them instead of giving us the money outright and thats fine with me! they are coming tomorrow morning to do the furnace estimate. i cant wait to get a new ecomomical furnace that will hopefully keep my pipes from freezing!! i may have water again soon!
 
that's awesome...we're in for some colder weather in the next few days, so I hope you get it all worked out soon!

Oh Corey I'm sooo happy for this news for you! It's a step in the right direction and I'm so so glad you'll be able to get the furnace taken care of!!!
 
YAY!!! I'm so glad that they were so willing to work with you guys! I wish all credit unions were that amazing! Here's to unfrozen pipes and running water!

Great news!!! and I can sympathize a bit---I know it's no way as expensive, but I need a new water heater-Hate to think how much that will set me behind
 
Hurray! I can't even imagine how tough it must be to live so long without a furnace in this very cold winter!
 
thanks everyone! they are coming on Monday to install it. i still have a broken pipe, and we're hoping they'll be able to fix that monday too, or atleast sometime this week.
