Very worried!

My younger brother called me this morning right before 8am to ask me if i've heard from our dad. He still lives at home with him, our parents are divorced. He said he was heading up to Elkhart, IN to talke to the unemployment agency up there (he used to work up there for Gulf Stream, an RV company and lost his job due to cut backs). My brother said he tallked to him yesterday at about 1 or 2 pm and that he was eating a sandwhich somewhere up there at a bar. he never came home last night. we've tried calling his cell phone and we keep getting voicemail right away. he keeps a phone charger in his car. we don't know what is going on and are very worried. My brother is at work right now (he works for Pepsi, going around fixing machines etc.) so he cant do much about it. but its almost been 24 hours since he's been missing. if we don't hear from him i think we're going to report him missing later today or tomorrow. We have an Aunt who lives up around Ft. Wayne and he has another friend that live up there, but it still doesn't explain why he hasnt called. One of our thoughts is that he maybe got pulled over and he doesn't currently have car insurance so he may have been arrested but he could have called a friend of his that lives down the road from him to let us know, but she hasn't heard from him either. no one has. (apparently, your one phone call you get when you are arrested can't be made to a cell phone, and that is all my brother and i have, but his friend has a landline phone.) this isn't like him. i'm really worried. i'm very close to my dad. please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and hope something bad didn't happen to him :(

How scary Corey! I hope you find him soon! Usually you just get a ticket for driving with no insurance, not arrested (I work for an auto insurer). Please keep us updated. {{HUGS}}

I hope you hear something soon. I don't think they would take him to jail if he didn't have insurance. I think they would just ticket him. Do you happen to know the name of the bar? If so, maybe you could call it and see if they remember him, what time he left etc.

still no word. when my brother gets home, he's going to go talk with his friend that work for the sherriff's department (i think, something like that) for advice on what to do. we may file a missing person's report. Again, this i not like him to disappear this long without eventually calling someone. all these horrible thoughts are running through my head. "maybe he was mugged and he's lying in an alley somewhere" "maybe someone beat him up and stole his car". i can't help it. i've been googling the local news up there trying to find out about car accidents or anything that could possibly be about him. no luck. which could be good, could be bad as in something has happened but no one knows yet. i'm really worried. my stomach is in knots. if he does eventually get ahold of one of us and he just was being careless, then my brother and i jokingly said that he is "grounded" for scaring us, lol.

I'm so sorry Corey. I'll keep sending good vibes out there for you. I hope you find someting out soon. Not knowing is the absolute worst!

I don't mean to be morbid or scare you or anything, but have you tried calling the local hospitals in the area? If he was in some sort of accident, he might be a John Doe or they haven't been able to reach you.

((seriously, sorry if this scared you, but its worth calling, right?))

this has crossed my mind. i've considered doing this too. its just that he could be anywhere; Elkhart and that whole northern part of Indiana is about an hour or so away from where he lives in Fulton. i think i'm in shock right now. i'll hang on til i hear from my brother later tonight and we'll figure out what we're going to do from there.

Call the state police and ask them, if they don't know anything they should be able to tell you who you can call.

I hope you find him soon
