My dad's long ago-first-wife-now-friend-possible-girlfriend (lol, long story :D) got me one a couple weeks ago. she and my aunt somehow work for the Vera Bradley company. anyway, i didnt think much of it, i love the purse and have been carrying it around everywhere. i just looked up the website and holy cow, some of those purses sell for almost $100! i have this one. i have that pattern too. it has these awesome 3 pockets on the inside that are perfect for my cell phone and whatever else i throw in there. now i want a wallet to match! :D i think i found a new obsession!

uh, oh, they have checkbook covers too!

oh, and she got the girls each a mini one. one in blue and the other in red. they think it's neat to have purses like mommy's :wub:

the one i have is a thick, quilted cloth witha removable hard bottom. its really sturdy. its not usually my style; honestly when my dad brought it over, i was thinking i may not use it much. but i really like it! its easy to grab and go.
 
One of my friends is NUTS about Vera Bradley handbags...She has TONS...changes them weekly it seems like.
I'm not crazy about them...I'm more of a Coach or DnB girl myself.
I like that print though.
 
I see all the grandmas around here carrying them :blink: LOL

not really my cup of tea but there are a few on the site that I'd carry if I had it - like this one

it's cute that your girls have purses like Mommy!! I'm sure the love that!!
 
I love that pattern. I have a backpack style in that pattern that I use as a camera bag on occasion. My lens fit snug in the side pockets. It's nice and padded but I add a piece of foam to the inside bottom too.
 
She actually had a float in the Rose Parade this year, where she re-created her new line coming out in flowers - they were gorgeous!! You are very lucky to have someone "connected" with Vera's brand...

They actually have a diaper bag style.......I actually love my Vera Bradley bags ---I go for this style-the Betsy bag http://www.verabradley.com/Site/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?Sku=152&
It's a bit bigger but has 6 nice sized sturdy pockets on the inside!! the reason I love them so much is that they are so light weigh but heavy duty. You can really fill them up and they hold up really well.
 
I really like Vera Bradley bags...all off the choices in patters are great. There are some gorgeous prints. I have a wristlet that I bought a few months ago. I wanted something small I could carry when I didn't need a big purse. Now most of the time I carry it around inside of my bigger one. LOL
 
Yeah, Vera bags are really popular around here. DW has tons of them, as does both DDs. They used to be "grandma" bags, but they are actually very cool for the 20-30 set these days...Steph's new favorite is adorable it is HERE.
 
Have you seen her leather collection? i have severl bags from her...that are in her leather collection....and from her quilt like collection...same pattern...i have the purse..the laptop bag....lol and a bunch more :) ..that is all :)
 
VB is very "in" here, too. I have several and love to change them out with my beloved Coach and Kate Spade purses. I :wub: Kate Spade and am usually pretty loyal, but I have a gorgeous Coach, too. Sigh, so many bags, so little time....

VB is in here too. I currently have 5 in 4 styles & colors plus a wallet. I use one as a camera bag. I sell ones I have tired of or just never used much on eBay & then buy gently used ones there so I end up not paying too much.

i had seen girls carrying them around and didnt think much of them; its not my usualy style either. what i like most is what Marcia said; its lightweight, but tough and can handle a lot. i wish i had seen these when i carried diaper bags. i'll have to look into her leather line.
 
I love Vera Bradley! I got a small tote for Xmas in that same Java Blue print which is my very favorite print of hers. I wanted something to carry my water bottles, lunch, etc back and forth to work so I asked DH to get me one. I would love to get the duffel in that print too! You are very lucky to have an 'in'!
 
No grandma here but I looooove me my Vera Bradley. I am wanting this ONE sooo bad but I can't figure out which pattern I want. It is a toss up of 3 new patterns I love. I have carried one for the past 3 years and they still look just like the day I bought them. Very durable. Of course, I am not a huge purse girl so I don't carry it everywhere.
 
Oh, very pretty! I have a Dooney and a Coach diaper bag and my dh just gave me a certificate to get a new Coach bag for Christmas. I am planning on this one. Leah
 
they are extremely popular here and I have a ton. I'll admit I was quite addicted for awhile but I've sort of gotten a little over it...I usually get a new one every year now, or maybe two, one for fall/winter one for summer/spring, but I do have a coach leather bag now that i seem to have gone over to,lol. BUT, I DO love Vera and the quality is unbeatable. you can really tell a huge difference between a real one and a knock off. I love to just look at my collection on the top shelf of my closet, all bright and cheery :)
 
i can't believe the prices some of you gals pay for purses, lol. Coach and DnB?? i thought just celebrities paid those prices! i'm not a huge purse girl though. sometimes its just a wallet in my coat pocket, lol. i'm a huge bargain shopper though. its hard for me to pay a lot of money for any one item. i always try to get more bang for my buck,lol.

Actually, celebs pay much, much more for Louie and other much higher end bags then Dooney and Coach. ;) I do only buy mine at the outlet mall, saves some and I have been carrying the one Dooney bag I have for 2.5 years and the diaper bag since my son was born over 2 years ago. They are great quality and last a long time.
 
I BEGGED for a VB bag for my b-day & Christmas. I told DH that if I don't get one for my b-day this year, I'm ordering it! I want this one in Puccini! I LOVE VB & don't have any yet, but I would love tons of them! lol

yah, you're right! i forget there are even pricier bags out there, lol. and i forgot about outlet malls! don't mind me; i'm a tightwad :D!
 
Yeah, these are popular here too... I've been using them for about 5 years? Got my first when my oldest was a newborn. My IL's get me a new one every Christmas (I chose.)

Currently I'm alternating between the big backpack style (I need the room!) and an over-the-shoulder bag. For me, they are just really practical, and my IL's have a certain amount of money they want to spend on all their adult children, so it simplifies shopping for them. I also like that I can wash them.
 
I :wub: Coach. I have a big black leather tote bag that I bought 3.5 years ago and it's still in awesome shape. I use it EVERY day.

I'm not into Vera at all.

Oh, I am a total cheapy, too. I have K-Mart jeans and Wal-Mart shirts, but for some reason I splurge on my bags, my underwear (Victoria's Secret) and my lotions/body washes (Bath & Body Works). Its not much, but they are my things. lol
 
I get too bored to carry the same purse for a long time, that's why I can't see me paying for coach or DB--if I was really going to spend lots on a leather purse I would buy a Brighton (the one I want is $425) so that ain't going to happen!!

I've also found another great designer of cloth purses--Donna Sharp--she sells less expensive models of her stuff at Crackerbarrel, but she has a nicer line out, more like the quality of Vera Bradley for about 15 to 20 dollars cheaper. I have a couple of them I've been carrying recently that I really love! The LEAH model is very similar to Vera's Betsy and it's just perfect!

I am a purse freak. I can't even count how many I have. I do know I have 6 coach bags tho! They are my fav!
 
They are seriously popular in TN. As in, college girls, grandma's, teens, - pretty much EVERYONE carries them.
 
I got a Doony bag off of eBay for about 30% of the new price because it was used and had a slight scuff on one corner. I figure that saves me the trouble of freaking because I scuffed my pricy bag. :)
