Hi, Someone posted how they tag kits for scrapbooking and I was wondering if someone can share directions on how to do so. I would like to get more organized. Thanks
I posted about Bridge in this post.
I found that putting a copy of each preview in a separate folder and putting that folder in my favorites kept it from loading every single item in to the memory so it is not a resource hog.
I only tag by theme. Tags are called keywords in Bridge. Some previews will be tagged with different keywords. I don't mix and match on my layouts on a regular basis but use just one kit on a layout. So I will search for a theme when starting a layout and can look at the kits available to see if colors work for what my vision of the layout. I do have one keyword "Everyday Life" that I tag for kits that don't have a more specific theme. If I can't find a specific theme kit to use, I can find one there.
Since I do have sub-folders for the 2 stores I frequent the most, when I do a search if I'm creating a layout for a challenge, I can choose to search in only that folder with the theme I'm looking for.
Like Bestcee said, you need to figure out how you scrap. Are you color oriented like her or theme oriented like me. Once you have that figured out, set up your system to work for you. I have always organized kits by store-designer-kit since I have always scrapped using one kit on a layout. That is what works for me.
A note about the keywords... several years ago I found some posts on another forum that talked about tagging. Fiddle-Dee-Dee was kind enough to share information about her organizing and keywords used. I looked at what she had which was a lot of detailed information but scaled it way back for me. I don't need detailed organizing as that is not how my scrapping brain works!
