Thank you all so very, very much for all of your thoughts & prayers....I wanted to give an Update on this horribly sad time for my Cousin and her 5 young children....
After my cousin Jennifer's husband Wes passed away, her Father & her Mother were attempting to get their car ready for the trip to Aynor, South Carolina to help them to pack up whatever they had unpacked and to bring them all back home to New York State....They had only lived there 10 days....My cousin's Father's blood pressure and heart rate kept dropping and he kept passing out....They called 911 for him and their first thought was that he was having a heart attack because he does have heart problems....Several tests later determined it was NOT a heart attack, but anxiety....The Doctor kept him overnight in the hospital basically to keep him from trying to drive to South Carolina....Other family members and a couple of close friends made the drive yesterday arriving to help pack them all up and hopefully, they will all be coming home to New York State late tonight....
All of us in the family and their friends are in the process of trying to help my Cousin, raise the money to have Wes body flown from South Carolina here to New York....They were not rich, by any means, and the funeral home up here has told them that they need to come up with at least $3,000 by tomorrow, Monday, to have his body flown back here....I guess they will make payment arrangements for the other $2500. I know they contacted someone in South Carolina for assistance with the expense of having his body flown here and they were told they were basically considered "displaced" because they had only lived there 10 days....Because their older children had been enrolled and attended school--only for 2 days, they could not receive assistance from New York State either....With all those offering donations, they are hoping to raise this money by Monday inorder to have a Church service for Wes this coming Thursday morning....Otherwise, my cousin's only other option was to bring her young children to the Morgue in South Carolina to say their "Goodbyes" to their Daddy and to have had him cremated, which would have been against his (Wes) wishes....
*The autopsy and toxicology reports came back not showing anything....Wes died of natural causes at 44 years old....This makes it that much more sad, I think....
Isaiah, my cousin's 4 year old received an early Birthday gift from his Uncle for his November Birthday--a bicycle--because this is what Wes promised him....The Uncle told Isaiah, "this is what your Daddy wanted you to have" and Isaiah asked if he could call Heaven to tell his Daddy "thank you"....This is the kinds of stuff that really tugs at my heart strings....
Thank you all so much for your continued thoughts and prayers....They have a very long, hard road ahead of them....
