Update on my husband from last week

We have had an incredibly long week and a half (give or take a few days). My husband has had CT scans, sonogram/ultrasounds, xays, EKG's...I honestly do not even know all the tests they have run. We got a call today to tell us he needs to be at the place that does xays, scans, MRI's tomorrow. Not sure what tests are ordered but there is something more going on with his liver and it has changed a great deal since the last one he had a few months ago. We do know it involves his right lobe of the liver. Not even going to look it up until we know what it is we are dealing with.

He had his appointment with his heart doctor on Monday (yesterday) and the heart doctor does believe there was damage done to the heart when the accident happened and there were issues with the EKG which need to be investigated further. He asked if the trauma doctors checked his heart or not and I did not know the answer to that. So he is ordering the records from the hospital he was at then to find out what was done to check his heart if anything was done.

So it is still up in the air as to what is going on and how bad it is....if it is something he can live with or something they will need to do something about or even if there is anything that can be done.

In addition to that they have decided to recharge the guy who caused the accident with the same ticket for running a red light so my husband will be subpoenaed again when they set the date. So that is what we are dealing with now.Taking it as it comes and hoping that things will eventually work out.

So sorry Jessica, I really hope they can get your hubby all sorted out and soon!!!! Take care lots of thoughts and prayers going out to you.

Prayers from me too. You are doing the right thing taking it as it comes. I know it must be hard, but one step at a time is the best way to get to where you need to be. Hugs Jessica!

Sending lots of prayers your way. I hope it is nothing too serious. So the guy is going to finally be charged with something for the accident?

No not really Melissa. Just the same ticket. The state lawyers feel that because he and his attorney chose not to show at a mandatory court appearance on December 22nd so he essentially forfeited his right to a speedy trial which is what got him off the ticket. So still facing just running a red light and the punishment is a fine up to 1000 dollars and up to six months suspension. He had just gotten his license back two months before he hit my husband. And he drove while his license was suspended for not paying the ticket while he was fighting it. He is not going to be charged with a criminal offense. In Florida manslaughter in accidents require the state to prove reckless driving. They consider reckless driving to be at least 20 miles over the speed limit so the fact he ran a red light and killed someone means nothing. It is just like if he ran the red light and caused no damage at all really.
