Update on me and baby Timothy

Glad everything went well with your delivery, and I hope that you get to bring Timothy home soon!

You are one amazing mom - you've given birth and I've seen you've been scrapping too!! My prayers are with Timothy and your sweet family. Your SSD friends are here for you and we love you!! Keep us posted.

Welcome to the world, little Timothy! I hope they're able to quickly discover the problem and work to resolve it so he can be home with you and yours ASAP.

Hugs Kara! Thanks for the update. I hope that you get to have Timothy home with you soon! My son spent a month in NICU and had a feeding tube for about 2 weeks. I hope that he is able to start eating without going into distress real soon!

Congratulations Kara and Welcome, Baby Timothy! I hope the stay there isn't too long for him and that you can take him home soon.

Welcome baby boy!!!

I hope you get some answers at the Children's Hospital. I'm sure it is frustrating not knowing for sure what is causing the congestion and such. Thinking of you and saying prayers!

WIshing your little dude a very short stay in NICU. Glad the delivery went well. Thoughts are with you.

Welcome to the world Timothy!! I'm so glad you had a smooth labor/delivery Kara. I'll keep you and Timothy and your family in my prayers for sure for a short NICU stay. I hope you can bring the little man home soon!

Thank you so much, all.

All of his tests point to a floppy airway that is collapsing under stress. This is not uncommon in children with Down syndrome because of their issues with low muscle tone. It sounds like it's something that will just take time to mature, but we're not sure just how long it will take. He's doing okay right now, and is on tube feeds and high-flow oxygen to help keep his airway open.

I've been spending my days at the hospital and it sure is hard to try to balance everything. I'm thankful that my DH is off work for the next couple of weeks, but I feel so torn between my kids at home and Timothy at the hospital. I just hope it won't be long before we can bring him home.

Congratulations to you and your family... welcome Timothy! Here's hoping he continues to improve and can come home soon!

Congratulations, and welcome Timothy! I hope that things improve soon for him and for your family!

Kara he is just so sweet (I've been swooning over his pics on facebook!!). I am praying for you guys and that his NICU stay is short. Thanks for keeping us posted!! (((hugs)))

Thank you for the update Kara!

Still thinking of you and praying a lot that you can be all at home soon.

congratulations, sending tons of positive thoughts that his NICU stay will be a short and easy as possible. Hugs Crystal x

You all are so sweet. Thank you.

He seems to be getting a little better each day, but it's going to take some time before he's strong enough to come home. For now, we're thankful for the slow but sure improvements we're seeing in his development.

They say slow and steady wins the race, so I will keep praying that Timothy gets well at the pace he needs to stay well. Are you going to call him Timothy, Tim or Timmy, or some other version?
