Update on Jeff...need your prayers.. again...

Thanks girls!! I am just.. ugh. So over it. On top of all this we're trying to move and he really can't help at all so I'm trying to pack up 13 years worth of accumulated crap from us and our hoarder children by myself. I'm stressed.

Sara, can you ask family and friends to help with the packing and move? I know your stress levels are catastrophic, so a helping hand would probably make a big difference.

All of our local friends live about an hour away. They'll be helping us move, but I hate to ask them to come help me pack and paint when they are all already driving in once to do the moving.

I also have issues asking for help. So that's hindering things a bit as well.

Main problem right now is that I am SO overwhelmed. The house is too much for me to think about and I don't even know where to begin packing so I just don't do anything. Super productive.

Do any of your neighbors have teenagers who would help you pack for a small fee? Then maybe you wouldn't mind asking them.

I know I'd make my boys help you if we lived nearby. For free.

But I do understand the problem asking for help thing - I have that too.

Me too, but there are times when you need to get past it and ask. Sara, this may be one of those times. Mary does have a good idea too. Teens always seem to need money, but I bet you would need to supervise them pretty closely. ;)

As to being overwhelmed, when I get like that, I make a list of small jobs and promise myself I am going to accomplish a few of them. If you break it down into small doses, it may not be so daunting. I wish I could help you in some way.

I wish I could help you too. I agree with asking someone for help. I had the same problem. The last time my husband was in the hospital I had a major anxiety attack from doing to much and not being able to juggle it all. And to make it worse it happened when I was on the phone with my husband. I felt even worse by making him worry about me. Still praying for you and your hubby and that this will soon be just a memory and he will be back to 100%

Well, I know advice might not be helpful (hugs would be better).... but I say if you can live without it, don't even bother packing it, just throw it away. This especially goes for the overabundance of kiddo toys. Otherwise it'll just be stressing you again when you have to unpack it and find some place for it. ;) Now for the hug.... HUUUUG :hugs:

Yes. The kids have I think 2 or 3 boxes of toys upstairs that they haven't touched since before Christmas. I'm thisclose to just donating them.. they haven't missed them in 6 months, pretty sure they aren't gonna.

Mary, that would be a great idea.. unfortunately the area we live in now is not.. how shall we say.. fabulous. We are only 1 of 2 english speaking families in our cul de sac and the other family has toddlers. :/ I don't know any of our neighbors at all.. another reason I'm glad to be moving.

We got 3 boxes packed today so that's progress at least, and I don't have to be at work until 6 pm on Saturday so I'm hoping to make some major progress on at least one room of this house. Wish me luck. LOL

I did solve part of my problems.. I was planning on painting the weekend my mom was out of town but now I'm going to devote that weekend to cleaning and packing and will paint the next weekend when my mom is home and my dad said he'd help too.

Awesome, Sara! I am so glad you are getting help. :)
