Update on DH *update in post #20*

So it occurs to me that, while this IS an update, I never actually told anyone here what was going on in the first place. lol

I took Jeff to the ER last night around 9:30pm. He'd been throwing up all day (we thought it was food poisoning), but then these terrible stomach cramps started and he was doubled over almost in tears.

Three hours later, the ER docs admitted him for a 6cm bowel obstruction. They did a contrast dye CT this morning and we're still waiting on the results. If its still obstructed, they might have to do surgery. But if its no longer obstructed (he's passing gas which is a good sign) then he could go home as soon as this afternoon/early evening.

So, I got about three hours of sleep. I'm at work for a few hours, and then I'm headed back to the hospital.

Just thought i'd let ya'll know that i might be MIA for a bit. If anything changes, I'll be sure to have Liz give an update. :)

Hugs Jenny!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope he gets to come home soon!!!!! I'll be thinking about you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's scary! Do they know have any ideas on what caused the obstruction? I know they did a CT, but did they give you any ideas?

Man, that's scarey. I'm glad they found out what was wrong and can fix it. Thanks for the update and I'll be keeping you guys in my thoughts & prayers!

So we're home. They let him leave this evening. The contrast CT showed that it wasn't an obstruction, but rather a severe inflamation of the bowel. Its never happened before, so we're following up with his regular doc on monday. Thanks for the well-wishes. Its been a long 24 hours.

Be sure to let us know what the doc says...wondering if the regular doc will have any medical knowledge/background on this...and what could have caused it??? I'd sure want answers.

Good grief! I hope he gets better without surgery! What is it this month? It seems like all sorts of wierd stuff is going on.
