Unsharp filter in photoshop

can someone please tell me what the standard numbers they use when they use the Unsharp filter in photoshop.

Normally photoshop saved them for me, so I don't remember...

Thanks :p

I promise I'll write them down this time!

I use 10, 40, 0 or 20, 60, 0. It depends on the photo. Oh! For eyes I do 120-130, 4-8, 0. Depends on the eyes.

so...what exactly does the "unsharp filter" do for me?? I haven't played with that one yet!

Glad I'm not the only one!

Please could you explain what you use if for and what it does for you? I'd love to know - my LO's need all the help they can get :)

Hehe!

Well, the defog one (I use 20, 60, 0) is something I run on every picture I keep. It just sharpens up your picture a little and well, defogs it. :) Just try it and notice the 'before' and 'after'.

And the settings I use to sharpen it for the web just kinda counteracts what "save for web" does to the image. I think "save for web" kinda softens it and desaturates it a little, so I usu. do an unsharp mask at 85, 1, 4 and then up the saturation to around 9.

Hope that helps!
