I weaned Ella over a month ago (long story as to why) but anyway, I still have not gotten AF. With Avery after I weaned him it came after only a few weeks...how long after you weaned did yours come back?

Even if you've weaned, it can take several months to come back...how long did you nurse Avery for? I actually got mine at 6 months with Mason, even though I was nursing...it took longer to come back after Natalie (I nursed her longer than Mason, but like I said, it came back while I was still nursing Mason).

About a month with Avery too. I had a breast reduction several years ago so I had supply issues with Avery and then he was a preemie too so we had latch issues as well. I finally just gave up with him after a month. I thought I was doing okay with Ella, b/c she was nursing great and seemed fine with it but after 3 weeks she'd only gained 3 oz. My doc wanted me to supplement but I went through that with Avery and it was just too hard emotionally on me, so I decided to just switch her to formula as well.

Like Bree said, it can take quite a while for AF to come back, even if you're not BF. I weaned JP at 6 weeks and didn't get AF back until he was almost 18 months. Devin weaned himself at 3 months (boy did I try to keep going with him too, he just wasn't having it!), but AF had already come back when he was about 6 weeks old.

mine came back both times while i was still nursing, but i have friends whose didn't come back until several months after they weaned. it just really varies.

After weaning it took a couple of months with DD. DS nursed for 16 mo. but it came back at about the 14 mo. mark.

I think each person is different. I don't remember when it came back with Derrick but with Rhett it was about 5 months post-partum and I nursed him until 9 months.

Mine's been different with all 4 of my pregnancies, any where from 6 weeks PP to 12 months PP!!! Are you worried that you might be "late"....there is something going around in the water (at least over in La's forum ;)) but I find the best thing to do is just get the test and pee on it...AF is sure to start right after you waste that $$

Big hugs sweetie....I hope she starts soon for ya!!!

I swear that this is the absolute truth. Mine usually happens within 6 hours of peeing on a stick. Not kidding in the slightest. And after 3 kids within 5 years, I'm the most paranoid person I know. We buy the tests in bulk!

mine never came back after Ryleigh..but I have ovulation issues (imagine that with my household of kids lol)

It came back on it's own when Teaghan was 5m old and we were nursing (still are..and I haven't had one since)

I had tons of issues too and stopped because it was so emotionally draining :( I stopped nursing my ds when he was about 6 months old and it took about a month for AF to return.

I got mine back at like 7 months even though we didn't wean himself until he was 14 months. Stupid AF.

Umm..no worries there since I haven't even seen DH since Ella was 5 days old lol. Plus I got my tubes tied so I better not ever have to worry about being late again.

No I was really just wondering what the "normal" time was but I guess it's just different for everyone...and you know DH gets leave the first of march and I'd sure like to have AF come and go before he gets here..with my luck she'll show the day he flies in lol

I quit nursing Jack when he was 16 months, and mine didn't come back till he was 20 months, and that was only because the doctor prescribed some medicine to make it start so I could start trying to get pregnant again.

aaaaww I hope AF comes and goes for ya before dh gets home. My AF decided to come when my dh was home on leave UGH!!!!! lol

wow i can't even remember that far back (3 years ago)...i just remember loving that i didn't see AF for a very long time...hopefully she'll arrive for you soon...

Ummmm... so what does AF mean? I can't figure out the letters... sounds like a period thing, but what the heck does AF stand for? :D

Anyways, I bled for 8 straight weeks after Allie was born adn then had my check-up and was put on the low does BCP... I bled THE WHOLE MONTH on those pills (so then I was bleeding for 3 straight months). I stopped taking the BCPs, stopped bleeding finally and had a period like 3 weeks after that. And I nursed Allie for 4 months and then pumped ALL HER milk until she was 8 months (is it "nursing" if she wasn't actually nursing? lol)

lol! Thanks... I never would've figured that out since I've never heard anyone call it that before.

lol! Sorry...I didn't even realize I was calling it that..I guess it just carried over from my years on infertility boards lol...

I am going to sound super weird. I nursed Noah till I was about 6 weeks along with this baby. I think he was 20 months old when he weaned or something like that. And he was really only nursing once a night if that. I never got af. Seriously. I haven't had a period since BEFORE Noah's pregnancy. I had my reg post partum bleeding. Never got a cycle while I nursed Noah and then got pregant. So needless to say its been quite some time lol! My ob says its normal. Every woman is different and your body just takes time to get back to its own definition of normal.

I hope it comes and goes before hubby's leave in March, but definitely be prepared for that first cycle since you've had your tubes tied. I had mine done right after Kyle was born and AF came back the very next week after I stopped nursing/pumping at 12 weeks and I think that period was worse than the actual birth  My OB wasn't kidding when she said I'd probably see a huge change in my cycle after having the tubal
