No, he's replacing Grissom. They'll overlap by a few shows, and then Grissom is gone, and he's on.

I think he'll be ok too..in the long run

a plus for him is he's never seen the show, so he's kinda unjaded by grissom's character

I actually think he's a great pick because he's NOTHING like Grissom..and he won't act like it either. The worse thing they could've done is bring someone in who was sort of like Grissom. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what he'll do.

I already miss Grissom...and am really sad to see him go, but I think this is actually a good call.

I had almost sworn off watching CSI but this might be interesting. Noone could be farther off and different.

What I meant was that he wasn't replacing Grissom in the sense that he's taking over his job and they're trying to make the new character BE Grissom. Yes, he's leaving, but they're introducing the new character as someone totally different from Grissom. KWIM?
