So, funny story...

4 years ago I accidentally bought a computer - Trev doesn't believe it was an accident, but it really really was. LOL! ;) Anyhow, he was upset about it and I told him that he could buy a TV when it was paid off.

I just payed the last payment in November, and so he's been whining about getting his big screen TV, and how it isn't fair because I actually had to buy a new computer tower a few months back, etc etc...and I'd better not get my Mac before he gets his TV. So last night I told him, fine...if you can find a good Boxing Day sale and get it for the same amount as my computer payments were, go for it.

And today he drops me off at IKEA and goes off to an electronics store...comes out with a 42" LCD HDTV, lol. That's fine, though he thinks I'm mad that he got it - I'm not...I told him he could (and the payments are the same, so no biggie, we're used to that automatic payment coming out). He wants to RUSH home so he can set up his TV, though...so we do and he gets it out of the box and up onto the TV stand...

And there is no power cord. Or remote. Not even an instruction manual or ANYTHING other than the TV in the box. Oh boy is he mad, lol. Seriously TICKED, lol. He's on the phone right now with them and is probably going to have to go back INTO the city to get them. I think he's going to try to get them to give him a free BlueRay DVD player when he gets there, lol...

THIS should be fun. Glad I get to stay home! ;)

I don't blame him for being ticked! Hopefully they can make it right and he can get it set up & start enjoying it! I think we're hopefully getting a new LCD HDTV at tax time in February, my DH has been drooling over my Dad's new 58" TV for a few weeks!

lol! They're like little kids with these televisions. We had a 50 some odd inch huge monster of a tv that died a few years ago. DH and his buddy went into Best Buy to look at tvs. He PROMISED he was not going to replace the dead tv with another monstrous thing. He was just going to get a reasonable tube television. Well, not 20 minutes after he left did I get a call, I found a great deal, blah de blah de blah... I told him I didn't care, if its a good tv and a good deal then go for it. Personally I love watching movies on it! Men are so funny!

Men are so strange, lol. Stinks that he has to go back, but crossing fingers he gets something out of the deal. ;)

yeah i was dead set against a big screen tv a few years ago..to this day i won't tell DH I LOVE watching movies and tv on it lol

What a pain! But when I first started reading, I thought you'd accidentally bought something else. I suppose this is better than you being in trouble for that!

So did he get his DVD player?

And am I married to the only man in the world who apparently has no desire for a bigger/better TV?

Probably... LOL!!!

Our 50" is about 6 years old now. It's one of the rear projection tv's so now DH has decided we NEED a new 52" LCD. Costco has a bundle with a 52" and a 32" for $1799.... I'm sure it will be showing up on my doorstep any day now since we are getting a big check for our floors and it's not going to cost that much to fix them...

I'd be steaming too! Make sure he picks up an HDMI cord cuz those don't come with the TVs.

Can't wait to see how this turned out.

He got NOTHING from the store. They gave him the pieces he was missing and sent him on his way. He's NOT impressed. :(

BUT, it's working, lol. And he loves it. So I guess it's all ok...

Nice. Glad he got his TV. But I would like to hear the story on how you accidently bought a computer.

Man, that blows. I can't believe they didn't give him anything for being such screwups.

PS~I don't buy this "accidental" computer purchase nonsense! Spill it! Lol!

Yeah, I'm with Col, how'd you pull the 'accident' off?

That stinks that they made him go back for all the parts and he didn't get any freebies! Glad to hear it's working tho!

We just got a Pioneer 50' Plasma this weekend. We went in planning on spending a certain amount with no payments involved and then DH saw this one and whips out the credit card. As if we don't have enough debt already. But it is a nice TV and it gets the giant 52' projection TV we have that isn't flat out of my very tiny living room!

LOL, regarding the accidental computer...I had this total piece of garbage for a computer and PSE wouldn't run very well on it...I was getting really frustrated (seriously it had like 512MB for RAM I think...maybe 256...crap). I was going to upgrade my RAM and was pricing it out but the RAM I needed (and the amount I needed) was going to cost too much. So I went to Dell's site and started creating myself a computer.

A little while later I'd finished pimping out this computer and thought, what the heck...I'll check out and see if they'll give me credit. Now you have to realize that I had REALLY bad credit at the time, lol...I never thought I'd get it. So I put through and waited. A few minutes later it was approved...I was totally shocked, lol.

And this all happened while Trev was at work. So yeah...I accidentally bought a computer. It was delivered a few weeks later, and he was NOT impressed with me at all, lmao...

Thats weak they didnt hook him up with that blu ray player! I totally understand the tv fetish, it seems to be every 2 years or so we get our income tax and my husband feels the need to upgrade LOL.
