ugh! every february!!!!!

lauren grier

you're like stars
my car decides to try to explode. every.single.february. this is getting old :thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

this year may prove to be my undoing.. the entire freaking exhaust system needs to be replaced.

yes.
entire.
thing.

and this isn't a mechanic trying to screw over a girl .. this is 1) my dads mechanic/friend/guy who does us favours all the time and 2) my dad is the one who talked to him. UGH.

Please keep your fingers crossed that we can find the parts at a reasonable price, even ripping them off of junk cars :p I only bought the car for 3500.. so 1k+ in repairs seems rather stupid at this point. It's an old car, wilma is her name.. if you want to keep her in your thoughts LOL. she's a 2000 pontiac grand am and a pain in my butt!!!

UGH!!! I hope they can find you something at the junk yard!
Paul replaced the exhaust on my car once and even when he did all the work it was $600 in parts. :(
Wilma is my GPS! :)

I had similar issues with the converter and sensors in my car. I would not have passed the car safety inspection and emission tests. The check engine light was on.... Dealership quoted me close to $3000 in repairs. My husband found all the parts and sensors on ebay and amazon and fixed for much much less.

car issues are the worst... because no matter what seems to be wrong, the cost to fix it always ends up costing a fortune. so frustrating! hope the used parts route works out for you, La.

Ugh, I am so sorry. A few years back my paid off van's transmission needing replacing. It was still worth $4500 and I found a guy to do it for $1000, so I decided it was worth it. The very next month, it needed some part replaced that cost $800. Then every single month for a whole year it needed something ranging around $200-$300 before I finally said, this is ridiculous, I might as well have a car payment. They are nice when they are paid off, but what a pain fixing them can be.
