soooooo I have an ongoing battle with my teeth because they were really weakened when I was pregnant with my boys and it turns out I have to have one surgically extracted because it's broken half off in the back. Thankfully, that tooth doesn't hurt BUT it feels like another one in the back is about to break off and I'm DYING today....

/end whiney vent

I'm going to the dentist today to see what they can do, but it's almost the weekend so I'm going to be stuck like this for a few days. I'm seriously taking 3-4 Excedrin migraines every few hours and I'm still in pain. I tried the 600 mg Motrin we have it does nothing for the pain.

and yes, I DO brush!

waaaaaaaaaaaah!

oh what a bummer :(

I hope the next few days go by quickly and that the extraction is as painless as possible!

Um, honey, slow down on those Excedrin migraines! When I'm not pregnant, I live on them and am pretty sure you're not supposed to exceed 2 w/in 24 hours.

Maybe do an Excedrin migraine, then some extra strength Tylenol, then some ibuprofen, then some naproxin (like Aleve). Ya know space them out a little. Then some of those you can take again in a little bit.

I'm really sorry you're in pain. Sounds awful.

And, for the record, I never doubted that you brush. Hehe! :-P

Ohhhhh I feel for you, a tooth ache is the worst. I have "weak" teeth too, a regular trip to the dentist always uncovers something :(

Can they prescribe something for the pain for you for the weekend??

I'm so sorry, Traci...I would def. ask for something for pain to hold you over the weekend. Hope it all gets fixed soon and you feel better! ((Hugs!))

Hey Traci, at our office, we tell people to take 4 Ibuprofens (800MG) and alternate that with Tylenol back and forth back and forth. (That's prescription strength). That should hopefully get you through until they can see you. I'm sorry sweets, I wish I could think of something else to recommend for you to help with the pain.

OH NO!! :( I am soo sorry, I hope they can get you fixed up quickly...
and I hope your weekend goes by as painlessly as possible!

you could try clove oil on it. It tastes nasty but it helps. Also there is a oragel PM. It stays on for awhile and keeps the tooth numb. I also like tylenol arthritus strength which works well for toothache pain. I am feeling your pain right now because I woke up with a toothache this morning:-(

Oh no!!! GOod luck! I have really weak teeth too... despite taking care of them and brushing twice a day, I still have multiple cavities almost everytime I go in for a checkup.

I'm sorry you're in pain, but it is so good to hear that there are other people with weak teeth. My dentist -- when I can get to him -- makes me feel like the biggest loser!!! It's something my whole family goes through. I brush, floss, everything and I still have problems. SUCKS!!!!!

Hope your weekend goes by painlessly!

I feel so bad for you sweets. If it's any consolation, I have to have a deep root scaling. UGH!

I had the same teeth problem through my pregancies and if anything they are worse now. I hope your dentist gets you fixed up!!!!

Hey Traci,

I just wanted to ditto what Libby said. I've had problems with my wisdom teeth (gotta have them out one of these days!) and I've gotten relief from the ibuprofin (4x 200 mg caplets). Hope you feel better soon. There's nothing worse than a toothache!

Well, I just got back from the dentist (he squeezed me in today) and i actually chipped my tooth (most likely in my sleep) so he ground it down a bit and (that tooth anyway) is all better!

Aww Traci! What's with us and teeth lately? Me, Paula, you... ugh! I would share my Percocet if I could. Hopefully, they'll either give you something to get you through the weekend, or maybe it'll be bad enough that they'll fix you up today (friday). I hope you feel better soon.... I SOOO understand.

I'm going through the exact same thing, Traci, the only thing is... my insurance hasn't kicked in yet. /misery

I have a broken tooth in the back, too, that came during this last pregnancy with Phin. I take 2 advil every 5 or 6 hours, it's minimal relief, but I value my liver. >.<

I hope you feel better.

tyhey might be able to prescribe an antibiotic - the infection is what is causing you pain, and you should be able to get a prescription from your dentist. After my kids, I had one tooth removed and another root canaled- both of those caused me horrible pain...when I wasn't on antibiotics!
