TV Series on DVD

OMG... I love TV on DVD. I would totally recommend Gilmore Girls, Grey's Anatomy, Felicity (I'm such a dork), or Entourage.

My mom also LOVES the OC and Smallville.

I'm currently watching Gilmore Girls for the 20th time, I love that I can pop it in and just have it as background and I've watched it so many times I practically know it word for word... LOL!

We love watching TV Series on DVD, thats the only way we watch stuff anymore lol.

Like Shannon, we have all of the King of Queens, love that show.
We are caught up with CSI Las Vegas.
The OC, Dawsons Creek, Gilmore Girls, Charmed.
They just released season one of Third Watch..I loved that show!
Thinking of starting Greys Anatomy up next, I haven't seen any of that yet.
Hubby does the "Ghost Hunters" thing.

Do Grey's Tracey! The first two seasons are awesome!!!

Oh, I was going to say 24... but NM!! It is my fave show ever... yeah, yummmmy Jack Bauer! lol! We also do Alias... sounds like we have similar tastes.

Another fave around here is Heroes. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of Prison Break, but my DH likes it. The Unit is kinda cool too! We are also addicted to Smallville! And I'm a little weird and still am in love with the X-Files. hehehehe

For a good laugh we LOVE Monk! :)

p.s. - I know I could look all these plots up on google or something but it's so much fun hearing about it from all of you!

you guys watch a lot of TV! i don't think i've heard of half of these.

i loved Freaks and Geeks.

i think i'm going to have to netflix some TV series, great idea.

I've added several to my netflix thanks to this thread :)...we sound like a bunch of TV junkies around here girls :)

A funny about 24...after LOST it's my fave show ever and we have all 6 seasons on DVD...my Dad had never watched them so I let him borrow them and my mom told me this morning that he is obsessed and she's sick of that show lol...

I can't wait til it's back in 09...but I saw that Keifer has a new movie coming out soon so that's good :)

I've recently watched these on DVD and really enjoyed them: Heroes, Felicity, and Everwood. I'm also a big fan of Prison Break and 24 for good action!

yeah, One Tree Hill is kinda like Dawson's Creek, trying to think about how to explain the show, i haven't watched it in oh so long, i'm more into Dawson's Creek lol. It's a teenage drama with a love triangle in it

OOHHH!! I can't believe I forgot this one...

ROME!! It's fantastic - 2 seasons from HBO..pretty strong adult content though so it's not good for the kiddies

I think the only one that hasn't been mentioned is Charmed... I just started watching that one. I love Grey's but I'm getting frustrated with the M & McDreamy storyline. I've seen a few episodes of Ghost Whisperer and keep thinking I need to nextflix that one.

If you want an amazing mini series (i think it's about 12 hours total), Band of Brothers is a must see. I'm not one to watch movies/series more than once usually, but I've watched this 3 times. It's kinda heavy, but it's so good!

Let us know what you decide on.

I'm a big Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars fan too.

The only show I actually own on DVD is Arrested Development. It is so much funnier on DVD because all the jokes and storylines carry over from episode to episode and season to season. It's seriously one of my favorite comedies ever.

Oh another great show is Friday Night Lights. It seriously doesn't get as much credit as it deserves for being such a great drama.

Dexter! I fell in love with that show so quickly! He's a serial killer you just love and don't want him to get caught. LOL Can't wait until season 3 starts in the fall!

Creator-executive producer James Manos Jr.'s title character, one Dexter Morgan (played by Michael C. Hall of Six Feet Under renown), works for the Miami Police Department as an blood spatter analyst, visiting crime scenes and helping figure out what happened. He has an avocation, too: during his off hours, he tracks down some very, very bad people who for various reasons have eluded the proper authorities. Seems his adoptive father, a cop himself, taught the kid how to channel his dark side in a "positive" direction; and so, having captured these evildoers (including a child molester-murderer and a recidivist drunk driver with a trail of bodies in his wake), Dex dispatches them with clinical precision, thus making him a serial killer who snuffs serial killers.

Oooh, what about The Zone? It with Anthony Michael Hall and DH and I watched the first two seasons. It was REALLY good. Basically AMH is a guy who wakes up after being in a coma for 9-ish years. And now he can "see" the future by touching people and he sorta becomes a crime-solver. But the plots are really good and the actors are great too.

It's called The Dead Zone no? Based off of the movie by Stephen King?

I LOVE the OC!

i started watching single episodes of csi: miami, but you really "get" a lot more of the story if you want the whole season. a lot of the stories are interwoven. especially the last couple of seasons. this past season i could NOT WAIT until the next one came on. ya know?

I LOVE CSI! I started watching it on DVD last winter and I'm already on Season 6! lol You're right though, it is more episodal... still love it though. Don't know what I'll do when I've caught up to the current season and have to wait til it comes out on dvd. lol

My faves are:

Entourage
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Angel
Big Love - this one hasn't been mentioned yet. I find it really interesting and entertaining. I watch it when I run on the treadmill.
Veronica Mars - each season has a season-long mystery/crime to solve, but each episode also has its own storyline. I loved this show! I was also in several episodes in Season 2 as a background actor, because they filmed it in San Diego.

My favorites of my entire seasons on DVD are Sex and the City, Oz (so behind in these though), ER and The 4400 (super, super behind in these, too).

sounds like your a sci-fi/action type of gal. have you ever watched smallville? its about clark kent (superman) as a teenager growing up a humble farm boy who comes in contact with "evil meteor freaks", he ends up saving the day, learning a lesson, while being the most humbled alien boy who has ever graced our planet.

there is the i candy of the show...everyone is soooo beautiful! it's been running since 2001 and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon. :)

Well, I was just looking for a new series and my best friend recommended "Dexter". I finally just bought it and will probably start watching it soon (if I can pry myself away from SSD and digital scrapbooking!).

One of our favorite series that we got into right after we had Libby was Six Feet Under. It's an HBO show. It's very dark, yet very funny. The character development is just incredible. There are things that you will love about each character and things that you despise at the same time. It's awesome that each character is relatable in some way. I don't usually get into shows like that, but wow. It was awesome!! Just a warning though - it's definitely something you guys will want to watch after the kiddos are in bed!! The language and other adult content are definitely not suitable for them!! But it's an HBO show, that's to be expected!!
