Trivial Tuesday Oct 16/23 - What's in a name?

How'd you get your username??? Has it carried over to your real life (or come from your real life?)

Mine is pretty easy - my initials are TJ, add scraps, boom. Prior to this I was 'slurpeegirl13' for a number of years but about 10 years ago I decided my username needed to grow up. Funny though, some work friends and people I know IRL have started calling me TJ all the time, which is better than how people usually shorten my name that I HATE when they do it (Treen or Treenie is common, I hate both! lol)

Slurpeegirl was my nickname in University - we lived in dorms about a block from 7-eleven and would go for slurpees pretty much every single day, even in -40'C weather. 13 is my favourite number.

I remember when you were slurpeegirl13, Trina! We've come a long wayyyy. :)

I am still nietis, back then till now. It's actually my account username back when I was in high school in Australia, given by the school. It's the first 5 letters of my surname plus my first name initial. It somewhat stuck with me along the so many years because it's just so unique to me.

Mine is similar to Sherly's - it's a combo of my first/last name and came from my college user name. Mine's pretty unique to me, too. I was never good at coming up with something more creative.

I am now LJS Designs, which is my design name, but previously I was Loriebug66. Loriebug is my family nickname, which is usually just shortened to Bug, and 66 was the year I was born. So my username has been with me forever. :)

Mine is pretty simple Kimberly27
27 is our lucky number...Hubby and I started dating on Feb 27, 1996. We got married July 27, 2002.

It didn't stop there...
His social security number has a 27 in it.
The zip code where is lived ended in 27
The phone number of the place we met had a 27 in it
His mom is a small woman and she weighed 127 when she gave birth to him
My labor and delivery room with kid one was 27

It pops up a lot for us everywhere! It is a little sign that makes me smile when I find it or it pops up. :) We acknowledge the 27th of the month with a sweet text or lunch date. :)

I think before this one it was scrappin_mama22 on some sites...my first kiddo was born on the 22. I have also used digiscrapping27 (my insta name now) and leavingalegacydesigns (my designer name...Leaving a Legacy Designs, my other insta name) :)

I remember when you were pregnant with your oldest! lol!

Funny story - my friend from University her first name (Elise) and initial (L) formed her email address, so it read 'elisel'. Well, Elisel became Elisel the Weasel, which morphed into 'Weasie'. I still call her Weasie, it's been 20 years. I'm sure she loves it lol

That is a lot of 27s!!! Hubby and I met on the 24th, got engaged on the 24th and married on the 24th, but that's where it stopped lol

23 years ago I was in an e-group forum for the Havanese breed of dogs. Every so often we would have a chat and most members were using "Hava" then their dog's name for their chat handle. We recognized members by their dog's names instead of their screen name! I had my first Havanese and his AKC name was Circo Dr Pepper. So I chose a chat name of HavaDrPepper.

Then when gmail came along I used that for my email name and ever since I have used HavaDrPepper as a forum name for most forums I am on.

Side note: The Dr Pepper name came about because I was getting a black Havanese puppy. As I was driving to pick him up, I picked up my pop to take a drink and realized that "pepper" is black... I was drinking a Dr Pepper! And, no I did not name his little sister I got 2 years later that was a cream color "Salt". She was Paige after scrapbooking!

well mine is pretty lame as well

My girl last name is van der Ploeg and since the p is the first capital letter after my first name and at other places just Wendy has already been taken I put the P behind it so WendyP lol as in Ploeg

when I started scrapbooking and being in the forms, I had no idea what to have as a user name... so I put mamabee... only because I was a new mama and "bee" was for my name, Becky... my other name is Mamabeescrappin - but I rarely use it, I think I only have it as an email address somewhere... haha

Well, I'm totally not original. My user name is my given name. :D
My nickname is JC, and the kids at kindy call me Sinda.

Mine's pretty boring too- Amie then my maiden name started with an N and then of course "amien" was taken when I was signing up for my first email account about eleventy billion years ago- so I have been amien1 forever!

I love reading all of these!

Mine was luan37 for the longest time. As a teenager I created this name which I thought was pretty Luan and added the first 2 digits of my zip code (in France at the time), it became my username everywhere and my email is also [email protected]

Then wanted a switch a couple years ago and went with Leablahblah

do you all remember Garbage patch kids? Growing up I thought it was hilarious that they had one with my name. So I just translated it to fit the English world I live in.

I didn't know that! Is your actual name Sarah, or something different in Dutch and you go by Sarah? (Like how Michael is shortened to Mike here)

No, my actual name is Sarah and I mostly go by Sarah as well, but some people (my uncle, a few friends, a friend from work and a few others) call me Saar.
But like you said its the same like Michael is shortened to Mike.

Mine is super lame. When I was 19 and people were trying to come up with creative user names that incorporated numbers and such I came up with lovely1 which of course was already taken so I added an m for my first name. This is never taken anywhere so I use it everywhere even still even though it now seems lame. lol

It seemed silly to make up a username when I've never met or heard of another digital scrapper named LeeAndra. :D

I rarely meet them IRL, either, although I happened to run into two of them (well, one of them had it as a middle name) at the same time at the local Free Mom Hugs booth at Pride. THAT was a trip!

Oh my goodness! This is too funny, Lea!! I love Garbage patch kids.

Mine is simple - I've always been crafty and my nickname is Tam. Craftytam was taken when I got my email address, so my email is craftytamm

Australia was my dream vacation, so Aussiegirl seemed like a given. I also go by Photobee which is shortened from PhotoScrappingBee which was a quick name I came up with when I paper scrapbooked. I needed a nickname for some scrapping party I attended, and it was the first thing I thought of. I have been Aussiegirl online since 2006 when I first started digiscrapping.
