Trick-or-Treat Disaster

The kids went out trick or treating with my mom, my aunt and one of their cousins. They were SO happy and excited and I was actually sad that I was too sick to join them.

I get a frantic call from my aunt about 45 mins later, saying my 4 year old has been bowled over by a running teenager. He smashed face first into the road and was covered in blood. DH and jumped in the car to go get him and found him with two split lips (top and bottom), a bloody nose, and scratches all over his face.

I was so sad that I could have cried, but I held it together for him. I'm so upset that such a fun experience was completely ruined for him... I'm tearing up now just thinking about it.

Of course I wish the teenager would have been smarter, but I realize that kids just don't think. As soon as he realized what happened he stopped to apologize and to try to help, so at least that's good.

My poor little guy!!!

Oh NOOOOOOOOO!!! :crying: Poor Guy!!

SEE what i mean about the BAD teenage T or T ers... ARGHH :cursing:

I hope he feels better soon.... ((BIG HUGS))!!!

oh no, poor kiddo!

at least it wasn't something that the teenager did on purpose. I bet the teenager feels bad too.

Oh no, the poor little guy! I hope he heals quickly. Like you said, the teenager probably should have been more careful, but at least it wasn't malicious and he stopped to try and help.

Oh Jaclyn poor guy, I hope he's okay:unsure:and I'm glad to hear it wasn't someone just being mean

So sorry - I know how the poor guy feels (I fell to the pavement and split both my lips and scraped my chin about a month ago - I'm still antsy about walking around the neighborhood). Hopefully he'll get over it quickly - make sure he has lots of ice on it!

Ouch!! Hope he is feeling better now. Probably gonna be sore for a few days :-(

I thought my son was cursed because he got hurt every year for several years. The worst was one year I accidently shut the trunk of our car where we had their pumpkin buckets and he had his hand on the edge of the trunk and I did not realize it. I felt so horrible!!

Oh no!! Your poor little man!! Must have been scary for him and such a let down from such excitement. Too bad the teen didn't user better "situational" awareness, but at least he was sincerely apologetic. ((hugs)) to your sweetie!

Awww poor baby. I hope he isn't too traumatized by it.

Darn teenagers shouldn't even be trick or treating.

That is terrible...I am so sorry his big day was ruined. I hope he feels better soon and forgets all about it!!!!
