It's not hard. 
Do you have an EHD? I moved all of my songs onto my EHD, plugged it into my new computer, and loaded them back on there. Seriously just took a couple of minutes.
You can import any purchased songs directly from your ipod onto your new computer. But if you want songs that you've loaded from CDs, you'll need to transfer them via EHD or something similiar.

I meant to say...
you can authorize up to 5 machines to play your purchased songs. So you just have to go in and authorize your new computer. It's the click of a button and entering your password.

I tried doing mine through my iPod...totally didn't work, lol...the new computer/iTunes kept wanting to wipe my iPod clean. Eventually I had to let it because unless I did, it wouldn't recognize it. I don't know why...but that's besides the point.
I found all my music on my EHD anyhow, so it wasn't such a big deal...I just told it where to look for my music and it found it all.

Thanks ladies! That's the one thing I've been seriously dreading about getting the new computer. lol
