How long did you have pain? I had a molar pulled a week ago tonight & I'm still having a good amount of pain. I've had dry socket before, after my wisdom teeth were removed, & i don't think its that.
 
I had a wisdom tooth pulled 5 years ago... like almost to the date... I know I was in pain for a good 2 weeks. I think it's clove oil that can help with the pain... or swishing out with salt water, helps too.

I hope it feels better soon - I think tooth pain is the worse!
 
It's been a long while since I've had a tooth pulled, but I don't remember having much pain afterwards. I had to have 4 pulled for braces when I was 14 and right after the first set, my dad took me to get lunch.

If it's disturbing your sleep, I would call the dentist office since it's been a week to make sure it's not serious. Hope it gets better soon!
 
Same as Tronesia-I had some pulled as a teenager, and I don't remember much pain. Tenderness for a few days, but no real pain. I don't know if it's different getting it done as an adult, but I'd definitely call the dentist and check.
 
I've had one pulled as an adult. Is the pain on the surface or down deep? I didn't have much pain at all - I filled my Vicodin prescription and didn't use it. I would definitely call the dentist.
 
I had one pulled and my root was twisted in the gums. It caused severe swelling and bruising on my face which hurt for a good long while. Did the dr have any difficulty pulling it? I got a paper with mine that told me what to expect afterwards and he told me it would probably hurt a little more then usual.
