Today my daughter would turn 7.

7 years ago today, my daughter Ana was stillborn.

She was my first daughter, and my love. She made me a mother, she makes me happy.
Funny enough, now she is Sandra's invisible playmate. go figure!

Please, if you want to help me remember her, do it with joy and not sadle
- eat some cake in her name
- release a balloon with a loving note attached to it (we do this every year)
- give a gift to a poor child, or donate to some children related charity in her name

Thank you all!

Awww, what a bittersweet day Alina...I will be thinking of you and your family and your sweet little angel baby!

Awww, I'll remember Ana today.

We often release a balloon in my son Logan's name, too. He passed away in 2000. One year, we released a balloon at the annual "The Compassionate Friends" balloon release. A couple of months later, while we were decorating the Christmas tree, we got a phone call from a man about 200 miles away. He had found our balloon. We hadn't even written anything on it except our son's name, but he researched and found a way to get in touch with us. He offered to send us back the balloon, and he released another in my son's name. When we got the balloon back in the mail, he had enclosed a map of the town where he lives and marked the area where he had found the balloon. Our son Logan's balloon had landed on Logan Ridge Road, and we were fortunate enough that this kind man found it and sent it back to us.

Of all the balloons we've released, that's the only one we've ever gotten back, but that 1 balloon has made all the difference in our lives.

I hope you are able to find the same happiness that we did with your balloons.

What an amazing story Libby!:)

Wow...will say a little prayer for both of you today (Alina and Libby) - what amazing strength you women must have to get through what I can only imagine as one of the worst things possible happening to a Mom.

I will be keeping you in my thoughts, but you sound like such an extrodinary woman. How amazing that you remeber something that could hold such tragedy as something to still celebrate. I also think its just adorable that your daughter has befriended her sister even if just in spirt. Hugs!

Libby what an amazing story! You gave me goosebumps! Im thinking of you as well honey!

That story brought tears to my eyes. Libby, I had no idea you even lost a son. I'm sorry.

I am sending you lots of thoughts on this sad day Alina. And am so sorry for your loss.

Thinking of you hun - I too have an angel baby named Holly, she would've been 4 this year. I love the balloon idea :)

This gave me chills.

I am an angel mommy also. My son Christopher William was born at 21 weeks, and his birthday is Oct 13.

I will most definitely do something in honor of youir daughter Ana, as I am sure she is dancing around in heaven with the angels right now!

Love,hugs and prayers to you.

Amy

I'm so sorry for your loss :( It's inspiring to hear that you have such a sweet attitude about this and want to celebrate her. I don't know how in the world I'd deal with it.
I'll definitely do something today to celebrate her. ((((HUGS))))) Alina

Happy Birthday Ana.. sending angel kisses and hugs up to you on your special day.

Alina.. wishing you a gentle and peaceful day as you remember your precious baby girl. I know my boys will be celebrating with her today.

There are traditions we do each year on Trystan and Brennan's birthday (1.12.04) also. Now that Kaydan is old enough, we incorporate him in their angel day celebration. Kaydan and Kieran will never have an opportunity to meet their brothers on this side of life, but they will know of their guardian angels always.

Continued peace, love and strength to my fellow mothers of angels.. we walk a different path in life

I will definitely be thinking of you Alina {{hugs}}

Wow Libby what a touching story. Im glad he sent the balloon back to you. What a sweet man

I'm so sorry for your loss. This is indeed a very bittersweet day for you and your family but I want to say how much I admire your giving, loving way to honor your sweet baby.

I delivered a precious stillborn little girl, Katriel, at just 17 weeks on October 4, 2005. I always do something special in her memory on that day. I'll be thinking of your little girl today.
