Today is a weird day

Today is my birthday! But it's also the anniversary of my niece's death. She died on my birthday 12 years ago (while in utero) and was born on May second.

It's a weird day every year. I'm not even sure why I'm writing this post, probably because my hubby is also deployed right now so it's extra weird. :blink:

that is so sad Adi.. I can imagine it may feel really weird to celebrate when it is such sad time also.. but, anyway, Happy Birthday and try to have a great one! :hugs:
 
I know how you feel. I gave birth to my son the same day that one of my dearest childhood friends died years earlier. It's coming up Saturday (which is also iNSD this year) so it's always a little bittersweet to celebrate one life while mourning the other.

I've also experienced this when my husband died on my brother's birthday. For the first few years I don't even think I wished my brother happy birthday, but now I concentrate more on the joy of the day than the sadness of it.

I hope the day turns out to be a good one. Happy Birthday. :)
 
Happy birthday, Adi. I'm sorry for your loss. You know, there's things we cannot change so maybe it's better to concentrate on the good and the now. I hope you enjoy your day anyway.
 
Happy birthday! It's a great day because you were born. Try to focus on that. I know it must be hard.
My mom's cousin got the call that her son was in a car accident on her birthday and he died a few days after. She can never celebrate her birthday again. It's so heart breaking.
 
What’s crazy is Marcus (my oldest) was born in the day my oldest sister died too. I don’t have a hard time celebrating that day, but I do always call my mom. It’s such a bittersweet thing to have something sad happen around the same time something good happens. Thanks ladies :wub:
 
Oh Adi! :wub: Happy birthday to you!! I'm sorry your birthday brings sad memories with it. My grandfather died the day before my birthday and his funeral was on my birthday--nothing like yours, but it's always hard to face your birthday knowing what happened on it.

I wish you would have reached out to me today---I was just pulling junk out to sell at our upcoming yard sale. I would have much rather spent time chatting with you than working on downsizing! :D

I'm way late and don't have as eloquent words as others but I wanted to say Happy Birthday anyways! I know what it's like to have your hubby deployed and all your time and energy goes to survival and nothing more. I hope you were able to enjoy your birthday and do something special for yourself! <3
 
The day I went in the hospital to have my second son. My father in law also went in the hospital sick. We were at the same hospital. I had my son 11-1-13 and my father in law passed away 11-14-2013 and my husbands birthday was the next day. Then exactly a year and four days later my dad died. November is a hard month. My sister had my nephew the day after my birthday in 2010. Unfortunately he passed away in April of 2011. I said all this to say it is hard to be happy but, sad at the same time. I hope you had a great birthday!!
