Title Shadowing?

When you do your shadowing for your title, do you group all of the letters together so the shadow will be the same, or do you do the shadow for each letter individually? I'm just curious to see what everyone does and what the "right" way to do it is.

Each individually if they're touching. If they're not touching, sometimes I merge down layers and just shadow once...that's generally when I have a lot of letters, though. I'm lazy and like to just use word art for my title whenever I can get away with it :p so I don't do a ton of titles anyway :)

I do like Lena - if the letters are overlapping - which mine do most of the time - I shadow individually. If they are not, I merge and shadow as a group at the very end (to make sure I'm not doing any element work on top of it.

Ditto.

I never even thought of that! I read your post and had a duh! moment lol. I've seriously always shadowed the same... I'll have to start paying attention to that.

I shadow individually...I just apply the shadow to the first letter and then copy and paste it to the rest of the layers!!!

It depends on how the title is styled. if it's a cursive alphabet where I want it to look like one layer, merge first. otherwise everything gets double shadowed individually.

I highlight or group my layers and apply the same shadow style to everything. I don't like my letters to touch and I always order my layers so the shadows from the other layers doesn't overlap.

This :p I've realized recently that I'm really not that big on titles.

I always group my letters and add the layer style to the entire group at once. Then if I want some extra pop, I'll put each shadow onto it's own layer and adjust them individually. So a little bit of both I guess, haha.

This is what I do as well. :)

It depends on the layout and how the letters are being used for me. I like a page with some good title work :). There isn't a right way to do it.

I like to shadow each letter individually. That way they can overlap each other and still look dimensional!

My titles nearly almost always overlap - so I do them individually. I really should do the group thing...
