And maybe with scouts, do I need like special needles for my machine to do girl scout patches or is my basic machine not advanced enough to handle something so heavy duty.

I just have a basic singer simple machine, I paid probably $120 for it.

The machine should be fine, but you'll need a heavier needle...like a 90...and probably heavier thread.

Yep - you'll want a heavier needle - or some good tacky glue. I use a heavy-gauge denim needle + clear thread. I've done them by hand, as well, but a machine is faster.

definitely a heavy needle... but dont glue where you are gonna sew it will ruin the needle most likely.
