Those cute images with everybody's name

I love how everybody has an image made with their name when they post. What size of project do you open for photoshop or how do I go about doing this? Thanks!

Thanks ladies! Can't wait to start working on it! Almost wish we weren't leaving for vacation today! And now I know its called a siggie instead of that cute thing with your name on it! Everybody has been so helpful whenever I've posted a question!
