Things you can't stand.

How many ways are there to pronounce Mississippi?

weeeeell... I say "Miss-sip-ee" everyone I know - mind you I live right above the state and half my family lives there, and hello, that big ol' river is right next to me - says it this way too. I don't remember HOW that man was saying it. Probably pronouncing every bit of it since he said my way was lazy.

I can't say mississippi without also spelling it in my head thanks to being in a production of "annie" as a kid. LOL!

Any time I type Wednesday, I actually sound it out WED NES DAY. Same with February.
Yes, definitely.

I also can't stand it when perfectly healthy people take the elevator one or two levels, ESPECIALLY when it means that I can't fit on the elevator with my stroller and kids. If you've got bags or kids or something, I get it, but there are some lazy folks riding the elevator.

And just so that I can always be self righteous about it, I ALWAYS take the stairs, unless I have a stroller.

ETA: I even carry my stroller up stairs sometimes just for the sake of feeling like I'm better than other people.

Is there someone who can't stand when people think they're better than other people and I'm all driving you crazy? Sorry 'bout that. ; )

- When people scrape their teeth on their fork when eating. (this is totally one of my major hates)

- I hate people that invade my personal space. It's my space for a reason. I'm not fond of hugs either. I tolerate them from my son or kids. Grown ups not so much unless you are a close friend or family. (Even then I'm not too thrilled with the idea)

- People that constantly say huh? In my house this happens so frequently its unreal.

- Liars

I'm pregnant and majorly moody. So I could add to this all day lol!

I'm a cusser :) It's how I roll. Not EVERYTHING I say is cussing but I will drop some bombs if I'm particularly keyed up about something I'm saying! I think it's a generational thing because most people I know that are my age are the same, while people who are only 5-10 years older gasp in horror. HA!

I was gonna ask...how many of us are "guilty" of some of the things in this thread? Without being specific, of course. We wouldn't want you to end up on somebody's "can't stand them" list. :)

I am guilty of a few.

Actually, I'm guilty of so many things mentioned I almost posted that something I can't stand...

.... Is this thread. :o

yep this is me....of coarse I blame it on 20 years in the Navy :D

things I can't stand:
1. people that don't understand kids that have special needs (not every kid that is screaming and misbehaving is doing so just because they are being bad, sometimes they can't help it)
2. people that don't watch their own damn kids in the store...HELLO....the rest of us are NOT THERE to be your babysitter! if you can't watch your kids, DO NOT take them!:cursing:
3. people that don't have working:D turn signals on their vehicles
4. people that constantly JUDGE (I know we all do it to an extent, but some people are just OVER THE TOP)
5. STUPID PEOPLE!!!!!! plain and simple...STUPID PEOPLE!

(and Trish, my grammar sucks too:D)

I can't stand cutting in line. This goes for the "later mergers" as people mentioned already, but also when a new line opens at check-out and people from the back of your line rush over there and check-out ahead of you. Drives me batty.

Laura said it best - people. Not all of 'em, just the unkind ones. The ones who lie, the rude ones, the racist ones, the judgmental ones. And the ones who signal AFTER changing lanes... that truly drives me crazy.

mwuhahahahaha! so many of you would hate to be around me irl.

I cuss - a lot.

I use bad grammar - a lot. Sometimes intentionally, sometimes not.

Me too . . apparently I can be extremely offensive sometimes lol - actually, probably half the time offensive, half the time funny. Depends on who I'm with I guess.

As for what annoys me - pretty much everything at some point. I can be very intolerant, but I really try not to lose it every time someone annoys me hahaha

- Cant stand people showing up at my house without 'prior arrangement'. My home is my haven
- When my kids argue with me after I've said 'no'. After 20 years of this it's kinda getting on my nerves
- When people judge me because I have 4 kids, 3 dads. I didnt plan it that way! And I wouldnt change a thing
- When people judge me on my parenting. having 4 kids with special needs is no joke and I'm doing the best I can
- People who argue on social media about petty crap - I mean, seriously. Get A Life.
- Inequality and injustice

That better do for now, I'm gettin' het up LMAO :p

buses running late or not showing up

people abusing the benefit/welfare system - I'm not talking about those who absolutely need it or who are using it temporarily while they study, look for a job and generally try and better themselves. The people I am talking about are the ones that don't work, have zillions of children at a young age, drink like fish 24/7, smoke constantly and generally don't care

cigarette smoking next to people in public without asking if it is ok to smoke near them

swearing and abusive language

people of all abilities not being given equal chance (yes this is the academic in me who is studying a degree majoring in Disability Studies coming out)

Good topic. And I can relate to so many of you!

Soooo.....it's kind of weird since I work with people for a living, both in my regular job and as a photographer, but I hate people being in my personal space. LOL. More like, when it's not welcome. I work in a convenience store by day and random customers will get allllllll up in my bubble when I'm doing something and I kind of want to punch them. Like when I'm stocking something, they're practically hugging me trying to get to it when they could just say excuse me. I don't mind when taking pictures though because usually *I'm* the one trying to get up in *their* space!

This morning - I can't stand people this morning. Especially short little blonde ones wearing jungle print dresses who woke me up at 6.

-- I hate the GD cuss word. Other then that if you don't like cussing you do not need to speak/be around me. I have been getting creative because, my son likes saying bad words.

-- Today I really hate morning sickness. I hate morning sickness that stays with you the entire time your pregnant. I am 16 weeks and still sick. I woke up at 6:30 sick and then again at 9. I'm starving and I'm scared to eat!

-- I hate text speak. As in you update your facebook status and no one knows what it in the heck you are abbreviating.

People who "save to share" recipes and household hints on Facebook! Seriously, now! I have seen the same stupid recipe now, at least 20 times, in the last week! And it isn't even something I'd make! Please get a Pinterest account! Please!

lol, this annoys me. And then I saw one I wanted to save... So I've started sharing, but then set it so only I can see it, so as to not flood other people's feeds with the recipes they've all seen 80 times already :)

I hate wide ruled notebook paper. lol! Kinda dumb, but I loooove notebooks and always have a ton around, and I will dig through them all to find my college ruled. My girls get the wide rule :D

See now! That's a great solution! You would not annoy me!

Oh, wide ruled notebook paper is extremely annoying! I am totally with you on this one!

I have OCD, so my answer to this depends on whether I've had my meds or not. ;)
One thing that gets me no matter what, though, is lack of punctuation. Not everyone has good grammar or spelling, and that's ok as long you're still understandable, but if you never even put a period at the end of your sentences, I honestly can't read what you wrote. I just can't. It isn't so much that it annoys me as it is that I just have to skip the post and hope it wasn't important.

I can't stand that my brain is not smart enough to understand what in the heck Krystal is saying. (Love you girl, you're just a genius with words and I'm a basket case with them).

People who say, "Can I ax you a question?" instead of "Can I ask you a question?" I almost go postal when I hear it.

Right now, the thing I can't stand the most is the printer that's about three feet from me. For the last hour and a half, everyone and his brother Bob has felt the need to repetitively print multi-page documents. I don't think I've gone 5 minutes without hearing it.

You are all cracking me up!

I hate when people bathe in their perfume. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing when it comes to perfume.

And I hate getting in an elevator with someone who recently smoked, because my hair will be stinky for the rest of the day!
